A half-dozen slots in the USA Rugby Collegiate Men's Division I national championship round of 16 have been decided by weekend play. Cal still needs to put away Chico State (March 13) and St. Mary's (March 20) to earn a second seed -- and a NorCal play-off "bye" -- in the national tournament.

Is there some reason (other than, I suppose, your ego) why this was not appended to the LAST fanpost you posted?
instead of cluttering up the sidebar with 2 fanposts?
Shawn Spencer: "I’m receiving a transmission from your husband. Really more of a voicemail, if I'm being honest. A status update. Perhaps a twitter."
Burton Guster: "I believe it’s called a tweet."
Shawn Spencer: "There’s no way I’m saying that."
Yes ...
The other post was a story not that wasn’t written by me. As a courtesy to the writer, the story was set as a stand-alone to avoid confusion as to its source.
There are several concerns about that post.
Pursuant to copyright law, you cannot copy and paste the entirety of another post. In this instance, you have done so. You can only copy and paste a few paragraphs. Please put these paragraphs in block quotes to clearly delineate them.
Pursuant to CGB law, if a fanposts consists solely of a link to another story without any original thought of the poster, then we request that it be placed in the Daily Bear Dump. The Daily Bear Dump is a repository of all Cal news. You can tell which post is the Daily Bear Dump, because it is titled “DBD.” You’ll notice many Cal stories in there, amongst other things.
If you decide to keep the post as a stand alone fanpost, we would request that you delete most of the post, keeping only a few paragraphs of the real story in blockquotes. Moreover, you would need to add more of your original thoughts on the matter. What do you think about the premise of the story? Do you agree? Do you disagree?
Moreover, Rugby Vet, we have discussed you posting a Rugby Recap for Sunday afternoons. These sort of fanposts (with small amounts of outside stories and your personal analysis) would work perfect as part of your weekly roundup. You could include the stories, tell us about your thoughts on the stories and then weave that in to the recap of the game action itself.
That way we can achieve all of our goals. You can provide the rugby expertise we have come to love from you and we can front page it for all to see. If you continue to provide these other fanposts, then that is fine, but you would need to avoid copy right law and we can’t frontpage it, limiting its reach.

Seems to me ...
… that by crediting the author and the publication, the author’s copyright is protected, but I’m not going to argue with you. It’s your site.
This is the first definition of DBD I’ve heard.
I don’t fully understand why copyright law is the way it is, all I know is what I am told.
Regarding the DBD, I’m sorry that the definition has eluded you. I’m happy that we can figure these things out and be more efficient going forward. We want to make sure as many people hear about the rugby action as possible! If you have any questions about posting, do not hesitate to contact me.

Not So Fast
BYU is not the automatic Pacific #1. According to Jerry Figone in the Cal rugby office, the Pacific coast members will get together and determine who is what and where they will be placed in the round of 16.
BEAT STANFURD!
BYU finished its season ...
… as first in the Utah union and wins a bye from the PCRFU play-offs. The NorCal leader wins the second bye and grabs a national seeding as well. The other two Pacific seedings will be determined by play-off results.
The point is ...
… the #1 seeding in the Round of 16 COULD change, depending upon Cal’s last two matches against its NorCal rivals CSU-Chico and St. Mary’s. When Cal finishes its league season, the points will be tallied to determine the NCRFU’s final pecking order.
For NOW, then, BYU has the top seed because it has finished its URFU season (the Utah and Northern California local area unions, together with the Pacific Northwest LAU comprise the larger Pacific Coast territorial union).
Didn’t BYU lose a game? If so, then why are they the #1 seed?

BYU's loss ..
… was in a “friendly” match against the Denver Barbarians club – not a league game. Only matches against sides within a school’s union count for standings.
