Did you go to the young alumni function?
I take it those are from section 25? You were probably right next to me and my wife!

Yes, I was at the young alumni pre-game event. I wanted to meet some CGB people there and I did meet CaliforniaBone. I didn’t realize CGB has so many band members.
I sat in section 25, row 24. There were 2 dudes next to us but I’m sure we were right near each other. Thankfully the crowd was a lot rowdier up there than on Thursday when I sat in the chairbacks section 17, row E.

At the bottom of this link is a great video of Monty thanking everyone for their support. The court is absolutely packed with fans while he addresses them.

For those of you who were at the game and are waiting to watch a recording of the game, you’re in for a real treat. FSN actually caught a good portion of the post game celebration up until MSF was about to cut down his portion of the nets. The broadcast doesn’t just end when the game is over.
You can see the entire rush and feel good atmosphere. All in HD.

Just got back from a wonderful afternoon in Berkeley. What a game and what a second half. Every play, every basket, every defensive stop just kept building and building and the crowd just kept getting louder, and the players kept getting better…Best basketball game of my life.
Jerome, Patrick, Theo, Jamal, Nikola: Thanks so much for providing me with four/five years of great entertainment – your hard work was deservedly rewarded!

I was in that crowd on the court
I got to pat a few players on the back (Omondi Amoke was the only one I remember), and I also ended up pretty close to the basket as they were cutting it down. I grabbed a few pieces of confetti too. I’m saving them and the student section wristband, and putting them right next to my Big Game ticket and wristband. I’ve been really lucky this year because the last football game and and last basketball game that I attended were awesome come-from-behind victories. Now let’s hope with basketball we can actually finish the season on a good note. Go Bears!
Never posted here before
But as a Berkeley native, I am out in Austin, TX sporting my Cal gear. Of course, nobody here has any idea what Cal is or why anybody should be excited today. But man, this feels good!

They’re gonna know who we are when we beat them in football 2015-2016 :) We owe them a beatdown or two for stealing our Rose Bowl.

Wow...
that was an amazing game. Such a nail biting first half and a dominant display of defense the second half. I still can’t believe we’re a win (or a ASU loss) away from being the Pac-10 champs.
For those of you that missed it or want to catch it again, it looks like it will be replayed at least in the bay area at 1:00am.
We're Pac-10 Champs no matter what in my book
especially since we beat ASU twice. I know that’s not an ‘official’ tie-breaker, but that doesn’t bother me.
But yes, it would be that much sweeter to beat Stanfurd and keep the Pac-10 title to ourselves.
Let's beat Stanford and win the Pac-10 tourney
I like that the team has been saying the right thing about how we still need to take care of business next week. As happy as I am about this win (and I’m thrilled), we still need to make sure we win a semi-tough road game and probably get revenge against OSU and their 1-3-1 zone in the first round of the pac-10 tourney.

I was there
high-fived PC in the crowd. I agree with the people above – best basketball game/sporting event of my life.
Finally got home after celebrating all afternoon!
What a fantastic game! I’m going to miss our seniors sooo much!
Also met one of our intrepid CGBers randomly at the Young Alumni Bash. Forgot your alias though :( But Hi!

Congratulations Bears.
Just think how much fun this would be in a year when we get both the Pac 10 championships for hoops and the gridiron?

Braun
On this glorious day, I think Ben Braun deserves some major props. He was much maligned near the end of his Cal tenure due to his persistent underachieving teams (which is something that I personally agree with), and most of us saw Monty as an upgrade over Braun. However, he certainly had an eye for talent and brought in some great recruits to entertain us over the years.
We’ve been blessed to watch a talented and entertaining class lead us to a championship, and Braun’s the one who brought them all here. Let’s consider that to be his lasting contribution to this program, along with his ability to turn this into a clean program after the Bozeman mess.
Braun was always a pretty good recruiter, but for those who can’t see what the difference between a very good coach and a very bad coach is…..watching Cal play now under Monty as opposed to the Ben Braun years should really, really highlight the difference. It was painful to watch Cal’s lack of execution under Braun. Monty has them playing basketball like it’s meant to be played (even if they do struggle with the zone).

The truth of the matter is we’ll actually never know what Braun’s record with this group of players would have been during this season. It will forever be the great unknown.
I agree that Braun’s real strenght was recruiting. But once he got the playesr here, it was a sadder story.

I propose that Braun’s greatest strength was knowing where to eat in each Pac-10 city. He was a master.
I actually met Braun b4 @ Cheese & Stuff. His voice was all gone from yellin’ but could def chow down.

I was there. There’s been a few times at Cal I’ve gotten goosebumps at sporting events: chanting “Pac-10 football” at the UT game 07, beating Oregon in the rain in 08 and singing in the student section, winning Big Game this year, and now this. Thanks for your 4 years of dedication (or in Boykin’s case, 2? 3?)! You are going down in Cal history after this!!
You guys don't know how luck you were to be at the game :(
In other words, Go Bears!
