Alexis Gray-Lawson's WNBA Draft Stock
Alexis Gray-Lawson has had an outstanding season for Cal and while WNBA mock drafts have her listed as a mid-second round pick, Swish Appeal has heard from two WNBA sources that she could be considered a top 15 pick (which in the WNBA is early second round).
Front office executives appear to be lukewarm on this draft and with roster and salary cap reductions in the WNBA, it's hard to say if Gray-Lawson would actually make a roster. But from what I've seen at least, she'll give someone a battle in training camp...
There will certainly be more to come on this as we hear more and I'll keep CGB posted...

And think WAY more highly of her than the mock-drafters.......ers....
I'd like to smell the Roses before I die.
You know, if the WNBA had the type of extensive pre-draft process that the NBA does...
…I bet Gray-Lawson would be a fast riser.
As it stands, a 5’8" “combo guard” is probably just not going to get people excited…especially if they have a negative impression of the Pac-10 this year…

Yeah.
It’s esp. unfortunate that she hasn’t had good showings against long, athletic defenders. Those are the types that show up a lot in the W.
But Lexi is definitely a baller so I’m hopeful she’ll get a chance to shine. If she can be a slasher sort of like Pondexter’s game and combine that with a 3 point shot, should be good. LA might be a good place for her. Their backcourt is pretty weak so she could compete for a spot there.
thanks again!
more great info!
Sad that’s she’s been moving down the mock draft chart, but awesome that she’d (potentially) go to the Sparks! Woohoo!!
