Happy Lunar New Year!
On Sunday, Feburary 14, 2010, we will enter the year of the Tiger. So happy Tet or Chinese New Year to everybody. The Tiger is the 3rd sign in the Chinese Zodiac - see below for the origins of the zodiac order.
According to the repository of all knowledge (Wikipedia), Tigers:
Tiger (Yang, 3rd Trine, Fixed Element Wood): Unpredictable, rebellious, colorful, powerful, passionate, daring, impulsive, vigorous, stimulating, sincere, affectionate, humanitarian, generous. Can be cold, restless, reckless, impatient, quick-tempered, obstinate, ruthless, selfish, aggressive, unpredictable, moody.
The Chinese Zodiac order was supposedly determined by a race dictated by the Jade Emperor - I don't remember the details, but one's a sick duck and your mother's a whore. Wait, that's not right. Oh I know, the rat was supposed to tell the cat, but then "forgot" to, so the cat was left out and now the cat and rat are enemies for the rest of time. The rat rode on the ox's back to ford the river and jumped off right at the finish line to finish first. The ox finished second because he was strong enough to ford the river, the tiger finished third because it was a good swimmer. And I forget the rest.

Here in China, it means a week of vacation for me. I'm off to Hong Kong where I can eat and access the unfiltered internets. It will be glorious.
