This is the last regular season poll. The next one will be in January after the bowl season has concluded.
Others receiving votes:
Connecticut, Iowa, North Carolina State, Central Florida, Miami (Ohio), Southern California, Miami (Fla.), Maryland
Dropped out this week: Iowa
Biggest Difference from the AP Poll: Arizona +13, Michigan State -3, Virginia Tech -3, Oklahoma State +3, West Virginia +3
Biggest Difference from the BCS Poll: Nevada +4, Missouri -4, UCF -4, West virginia +3, Arizona UNR
The most glaring thing is that a week after most of us (including yours truly) somehow voted for Iowa, we all voted for Arizona (not including yours truly). The very same Arizona that lost to ASU by missed XPs. And in fact some folks still voted for Iowa though not enough to keep them in the poll. Other than Stanford [sic] overtook TCU and Wisconsin to take the #3 spot. Otherwise it's about the same as last week. Interestingly most of the top-10 is very similar to the actual BCS poll, proving that CGB is a computer.
The Biggest Sunshine Pumper Award goes to...
... NO ONE, because apparently everyone thinks Cal sucks!
This award was presented to the user(s) who loved Cal the most out of everyone who voted this week and had copious amounts of sunshine pumping
The OMG Cal Sux Award goes to...
... Ursa Major, Takimoto, atomsareenough, SkyOverEverything, Missing Barry, Berkelium97, iwanttheAXE, jabberwoky, Rishi, and royrules22, all of whom did not vote for Cal!
This award was presented to the user(s) who held a glass half-empty look at Cal
The Five Most Confusing Teams Were...
- Mississippi State
- Michigan State
Most people had the most trouble figuring out where these five teams belonged. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only.
Let's see here... Only three voters voted for Arizona but two of those votes were for #23. Guess that was enough for Arizona to barely edge out UConn. Seven voters voted for Hawaii but it ranged from #21-#24.
The Five Least Confusing Teams Were...
- Ohio State
Most people were generally on the same page when it came to these teams. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only otherwise all the crappy teams would top this list.
Seven out ten folks picked Oregon as the #1 team and the three that didn't picked Oregon as #2. That's pretty consistent. Everyone picked Nebraska between 16-17 with two votes each on either side.
The Five Most Divergent Voters Were...
- Missing Barry
This award was given to the five voters whose poll differed most from the overall Top 25.
Naturally Missing Barry claims the crown again with votes for Stanford at #2, Boise at #3, Auburn at #5, VT at #9, Wisconsin at #12 (he went an entire season by underrating Wisconsin), Michigan State at #20 and Miami (Fla.) at #25. iwanttheAXE had Stanford at #7, VT at #10, Texas A&M at #14 and LSU at #15.
The Five Least Divergent Voters Were...
- Ursa Major
This award was given to the five voters whose poll differed the least from the overall Top 25.
Takimoto captures first place by remaining scarily consistent with the final poll. His main differences were Ohio State at #8, UConn at #24 and Miami (Ohio) at #24 (huh?).
See you in 2011!
