Friday Night Lights

  • Grant Union Pacers (Sacramento, CA) grinded out a victory against St. Mary's 20-11 [1][2]. The Pacers won w/o their stars Shaq Thompson, ATH {2012}, Viliami Moala, DT, Ference Lang, and Puka Lopa. Grant takes on rival Folsom next for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division II title. Both Thompson and Lang will be available.
  • Serra Cavaliers (Gardena, CA) crushed Camarillo 40-7 [3][4][5][6]. George Farmer, WR returned a punt for 47 yds for a TD. Marqise Lee, ATH had 5 catches for 104 yds and 2 TDs. Jason Gibson, OLB scored 2 sacks.
  • Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Greensboro, NC) dismantled Cardinal Gibbons 35-10 [7][8][9][10]. Maurice Harris, WR (Cal) had a TD catch and 2 INTs. Northern Guilford will take on Wilson Hunt next in the semifinals. Photo gallery [11].

  • Richard RodgersSt. John's Pioneers pounded Gardner 42-0 [13]. Richard Rodgers, TE (Cal) caught 2 TDs to send the Pioneers into the Central MA Super Bowl against Nashoba Regional.
  • Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets (Lakeside, AZ) lost Arizona Class 3A title to rival Show Low 17-20 [14][15]. Jordan Morgan, S (Cal) ran 12 times for 25 yds and completed 1 of 6 passes for 4 yds. Photo gallery [16][17].
  • Colt LyerlaHillsboro Spartans (Hillsboro, OR) lost to Jesuit 25-28 [18][19]. Colt Lyerla, ATH scored an 80 yd TD run in addition to a caught TD pass. On defense Lyerla had a 105 yd pick six called back due to controversial penalty calls.

  • Palo Verdes Panthers (Las Vegas, NV) lost to Bishop Gorman 10-28 [21][22][23]. Brandon Wright, RB/DB rushed for 155 yds on 21 carries and 1 TD.
  • Summit Skyhawks (Fontana, CA) advanced to CIF Eastern Division semifinals by rallying against Heritage 29-22 [24][25][26]. Devon Blackmon, ATH made 2 2pt conversions and ran for a 53 yd TD. Blackmon finished the game w/ 6 catches for 100 yds.

  • Todd BarrLakewood Lancers (Lakewood, CA) ousted by Alemany 21-42 [28]. Todd Barr, DT had 2 of the Lancers' 5 sacks.
  • Vista Panthers (Vista, CA) tamed Poway 37-7 [29]. Stefan McClure, CB caught 6 passes for 137 yds and 1 TD. On 3 different occasions McClure won jump balls against DBs.
  • Valley Christian Warriors (San Jose, CA) defeated Palma 40-14 [30][31]. Byron Marshall, RB {2012} ran 11 times for 120 yds and 2 TDs. Valley Christian will take on #1 seed Palo Alto next for the CIF Central Coast Section Title [32]. Marshall expects to line up at cornerback most of the game to shut down Palo Alto's receivers [33].
  • San Ramon Valley Wolves (Danville, CA) defeated Monte Vista 27-16 [34][35]. Zach Kline, QB (Cal) {2012} went 15/26 for 201 yds. Kline passed for 1 TD and ran for another. San Ramon Valley will take on California next in the CIF North Coast Section Division I semifinals.
