Am I the only one who gives a damn about the rules anymore!?

Of course, fi you look at it, we were up at that point. So, that TD was somewhat unecessary, except that WSU might have had a field goal opportunity that they passed up bc they needed a TD. Not entirely certain.
Also the TD they scored on that drive, kept my blood pressure slightly lower.

Watching that again makes me feel terrible.
But if that’s the most important play of the game, the coolest play probably has to be C.J. Mizell’s suplex of Shane Vereen that probably should have been a personal foul.
Freaky like my lady pyramid!
I am pleased with the effort put forth by Ross and the first effort by the players
but if you listen and watch closely, Cal has guys standing there doing nothing before the whistle is blown. To be fair, these guys did put forth a good first effort (Edwards, Calvin, and Schwartz) to move the pile forward and perhaps they were weary of getting flagged. However, the whistle was not blown, the play was NOT over, and the game was certainly NOT over yet when they could have made much better second efforts to get more yardage. I haven’t seen anybody mention this yet but playing snap to whistle with maximum effort has been a big problem for Cal’s offense on the road this year. Too many times I have seen guys let up on their blocking especially on play action roll outs.
Correct me if I’m wrong but you’re not allowed to push a player from back. Hence the controversy with the “Bush Push”.
In other words, Go Bears!
Technically, you are correct. However, that rule is pretty much never enforced and there is room left for interpretation. If there is a pile, it’s not illegal to “push” defenders off the ball carrier. It’s not so clear cut when there’s a massive pile like yesterday. In the case of the Bush Push, it was clear cut that Reggie broke the rule and cheated, but that’s nothing new.
Agreed, we need another firey and intelligent center like Mack to get these guys’ heads in the game… Mack was the master at snap to whistle, even if it meant blocking a guy for 30 yards!
"Remember the Maine! TO HELL WITH STANFORD!"
Maybe next year when the frosh get their chance, we’ll see the mean streak return.
