I am a long time CAL fan and have been a 15 year season ticket holder. I am not an alum but feel a real affinity to CAL and would like to continue seeing the Bears far into the future.
But it seems that the Golden Bears have decided that the best way to build a fan base is to follow the Stanford model of pissing off the people that show up year in, year out for every game whether or not the Bears are any good. (I stayed through The Holmoe years)
I will even travel to one or two away games a year and like to say I am the loudest non-alum in Memorial.
Am I wrong in thinking this is the most screwed -up system ever devised when it comes to seat allocation?
Confusing and extremely fan un-friendly the site is not only difficult to navigate it is depressing. Add to that the fact that CAL seems to be shaking down its fans. After axing baseball and rugby (pun intended) have they decided in Berkeley that football fans we will just follow them no matter what they charge?
When you look at costs for each season ticket there is a "donation" column right next to price. Is this required to get season tickets? When you go to the FAQ section it gets worse. It reads like a Doctoral Dissertation on ensuring your best customers will be have no idea what you are talking about.
My guess is the most Frequently Asked Question will be : What the hell are you talking about?
I just want to see football.
