Was The Cal Defense Shutting Down The Oregon Offense The Best Performance Of The College Football Season? [SB Nation Bay Area]
One last look at the Oregon game. It has nothing to do with cramps, but plenty of Xs and Os!
Also congrats to Clancy Pendergast for winning Rivals National Coordinator of the Week honors, and Mike Mohamed again, this time for making the Pac-10 All-Academic team with a 3.43 GPA in business to go along with Defensive PoW honors.

a source within the Bears football program confirmed to The Oregonian that this indeed was "a big part’’ of the defensive game plan against Oregon, although not all Cal coaches were on board with this strategy.

So someone admitted that it was fake. why would anyone do that?
Very suspicious about anonymous sources
Wouldn’t put much stock into it.

Lame Ducks
I’ve never seen a bigger bunch of babies in my life. You’d think Cal staged eight or 10 injuries and totally stole a win from them. Knowing that real injuries happen in every football game, there may actually have been one or two acting performances last weekend. Doesn’t sound like a very big part of the game plan. And certainly doesn’t explain how Cal held the Ducks to only one touchdown.
This is all about the Oregon team, coaches and fans have zero class, and being insecure. All the bravado about teams not being good enough to play with them without resorting to gamesmanship is BS to cover their own uncertainty as to how good they actually are. After all, if they can’t execute their offense against a fresh defense — if they can’t score except under very precise circumstances that they totally control, can they really be the No. 1 team in the land?
Probably not.

Avinash,
I have REALLY liked coming to CGB, reading your stuff, my 2nd place blog to read football discussion.
And, I’m through. Too much denial and too much arguing and I am reminded of FBoise State.
Perhaps your administration will be glad to be rid of me. I haven’t posted much but have liked the read.
