Not much enthusiasm this week but here we go.
|2||Boise State (2)||--|
Others receiving votes:
Miami (Fla.), North Carolina State, Florida, Mississippi State, Air Force, North Carolina, Arizona State, Texas, Northwestern, Kansas State, San Diego State, Washington, Hawaii, Fresno State, California, Wyoming, Washington State
Dropped out this week: Air Force, Florida, California
Biggest Difference from the AP Poll: Texas -11, Oregon State +9, Missouri +6, Southern California +5, Wisconsin -5, Mississippi St -5, Nevada +4
Biggest Difference from the BCS Poll: Texas -14, Kansas St -13, Mississippi St -5, Oklahoma -4, Southern California UNR, Oregon State UNR, Nevada UNR
Shake-ups abound as Upset Saturday (because I sure as hell was upset) passed us by. Oregon is for all practical purposes our #1 team in the country according to everyone but the BCS computers. Auburn, Michigan State and LSU use Ohio State, Nebraska and South Carolina's misfortune to leap into the top 10. This of course leads us to Alabama jumping up a spot (because a team that they lost comprehensively to lost to a subpar team... college football is weird) and Texas still being unrated. Other benefactors were Missouri, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Our poor Cal Bears fall into the list of also-rans. And WTF is up with that WSU vote (*cough*4ever golden*cough*)?
The Biggest Sunshine Pumper Award goes to...
... Missing Barry who voted for Cal as #25!
This award was presented to the user(s) who loved Cal the most out of everyone who voted this week and had copious amounts of sunshine pumping
All I can ask is... why‽
The OMG Cal Sux Award goes to...
... Ursa Major, atomsareenough, Takimoto, Rated-R Superstar, JShufelt, troatie, 4ever golden, Ravenous Ute, Norcalnick, Berkelium97, and royrules22, all of whom did not vote for Cal!
This award was presented to the user(s) who held a glass half-empty look at Cal
And the rest of the voters felt that Cal totally deserved being kicked out of the Top-25 for that dismal showing.
The Five Most Confusing Teams Were...
- Virginia Tech
- West Virginia
- Oregon State
- Southern California
Most people had the most trouble figuring out where these five teams belonged. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only.
Nevada lost to a Hawaii team (who BTW only got one vote for beating the previous #12 team) and ends up as our most confusing team this week. They had votes for #10, #13, #22-25 and no votes at all. A single #11 vote brought Virginia Tech to the second spot this week. Otherwise they were either ranked in the 20s or not ranked at all.
The Five Least Confusing Teams Were...
- Boise State
Most people were generally on the same page when it came to these teams. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only otherwise all the crappy teams would top this list.
Boise was ranked from #1-#3 (mostly at #2) by all except one voter who decided that Boise was only worthy of a #6 spot. TCU on the other hand ranged between #2 and #7 though most folks picked them to be #3.
The Five Most Divergent Voters Were...
- Missing Barry
- Ravenous Ute
This avard was given to the five voters whose poll differed most from the overall Top 25.
Missing Barry has been usurped by one of the weirdest ballots ever by troatie. He (She?) had Stanford [sic] at #4, USC at #7, Nevada at #10, Virginia Tech at #11, Oregon St at #12, Oklahoma at #14, LSU at #16, ASU at #17, Utah at #22 and so on... Care to explain your rationale? I'm curious. Missing Barry on the other hand had Missouri at #4, Stanford [sic] at #6, FSU at #8, USC at #13, Auburn at #14, LSU at #15, Miami at #17, Utah at #18, Michigan St at #22, no vote for Wisconsin and of course Cal at #25.
The Five Least Divergent Voters Were...
- Rated-R Superstar
- Ursa Major
- 4ever golden
This avard was given to the five voters whose poll differed the least from the overall Top 25.
How do I keep winning this damn award‽ My biggest difference was Missouri at #18 and Texas at #23. Rated-R Superstar had Iowa at #8, Wisconsin at #11, Missouri at #19 and Texas at #25.
