Nyan Boateng Out for 4+ weeks with foot fracture/surgery...
Is it me or does this guy fall down or get knocked of his rocker after every reception? He is an incredible possesion receiver but he hardly ever makes a play down the field after he brings the ball in.
I hate to wish bad things on anybody or kick them while they're down, but my feeling is that Jr. Jeremy Ross will hang onto his new spot on the depth chart and never let go. He has already made some huge plays and seems to have the will to get that extra inch on every play. I haven't watched his blocking enough to know whether or not he is inferior to Boateng in that regard. I understand that our outside blocking is very important in an offense that relies on Best's ability to cut-back and dart through the secondary.
Good luck Jeremy Ross. Remember to look high! Your boy Riley already has a penchant for throwing it up there. He has been bailed out on interceptions so far by his receivers climbing the ladder to get 'em. Just keep your head up!

Hey Big League Chew! First of all, great post, and thanks for contributing!
As the main lead head blogger here who is in charge of everything and runs the whole site, I’d just like to say that the blog has a fanpost up every day called the “DBD,” in which day-to-day stories and tidbits exactly like yours are posted, along with a lot of general discussion about the team and all other matters. That said, welcome to the blog and hope you will contribute more!

Spazzy, even though you have 0.0% power in here, thank you for helping Big League Chew out. That said, when it comes to this fanpost, Big League Chew has added his own original thoughts on things. On Jeremy Ross etc etc etc. So, I think it is appropriate to be a stand alone fanpost. Remember, the key is some original thought. I believe there is sufficient original thought here.
Big League Chew, welcome to CGB. We really appreciate your posts and look forward to seeing you around much more. GO BEARS!

This is a pretty good subject for an individual fanpost discussion
Since it’s something most of us can try and dissect.
I did notice that Ross was being featured a lot on the first drive (fake reverses, screens, etc.). Which makes you wonder if Jeremy wasn’t already ahead of Nyan on the depth chart, considering his athleticism. Not sure about his blocking capabilities though.

No, his leg injury at Florida would be pretty hard to fake.

Yeah I remember that…and then he jumped up and was all “GOTCHEW GUYZ LAWL.” Karma, Kramer. That’s all I’ll say.

Yeah, that's what I heard.
I’m impressed with his personal growth. Reports on his transgressions at Florida and his work ethic following his transfer to Cal were extremely negative, but he seems to have turned things around and become a great team first kind of guy.
It was in one of the practices close to the start of the season.
Here’s giantfan5’s mention of it: http://www.californiagoldenblogs.com/2009/8/12/983037/dbd-8-12-09-heavy-hangs-the-head#19587201.

There were actual media reports, but I was happy enough to find that mention that I didn’t devote more time to the search.
