Who voted "very poorly"?
The Bears aren’t playing great, but they are winning handily. No turnovers. Very few penalties. Moderately poorly, at worst, IMHO.

Hmm
Tedford must really want Riley to get reps and confidence with his receivers. He’s going to be playing into the 4th Quarter.
I missed the TD. What happened?

Well, I’d like Ohio State to cover.

Bad news for Maryland
They’re tied at 21 against James Madison (who?) with 3 min left in the 3rd
Whose domicile? OUR DOMICILE!
At least for the computer rankings, our conference opponents matter much more than our OOC opponents. I believe the usual methodology is to look at your opponents’ records and your opponents’ opponents’ records. Since the Pac-10 teams all play each other, this effectively double-weights our conference foes. Thus, UCLA’s win today > Maryland (potentially) losing.

Some perspective
Yes, Cal struggled in the first half, but check out Alabama and Missouri right now. And Texas earlier today. It’s not at all uncommon for good teams to not look great against overmatched opponents.

Impressions
Seems like with Maryland we wanted to establish that we could pass. Obviously tonight, we decided to see if we could run.
KRiley 13-20, 148 yards, 7.4 YPA, 1 TD, 0 INTs. That’s actually a pretty good stat line. KR was right on 65% completion pctg, good YPA.
BUT THE RUN GAME. 46 attempts for 342 yards. 7.4 ypc. JB and Covaughn both had 30 yard runs and averaged 8.5/8.4 ypc respectively. JB 1 TD. Covaughn 1 TD. SHANE 3 TDs! He’s like our LGB (please no punches Shane.)
We’ve done a good job showing we can do both. Now it’s time to mix the two together against Minnesota.

WSU is not playing well, down 35-3.
UCLA wins 19-15 in Neyland Stadium.
Stanford loses 24-17 after leading almost the entire game.
Arizona’s defense gets big ups after watching CMU’s offense go to work on MichSt this afternoon.
UW gets a win 42-23. The streak is over!
tOSU leading USC 10-7. Taylor Mays is injured. USC has 5 yards of offense.
Everyone else either hasn’t started or isn’t playing.
