We've been looking for cool ways to promote the CGB way of life; with UC Eugene fully in our category, we look to conquer and occupy with an inane fist. Seriously, Twist wakes up at 5 in the morning every day, and leaves a message on my answering machine with one of the two following phrases:
I can tell the Tyrant King is very agitated, and he's ready to expand the empire. So here's the first step is the step all manical madmen must take on the first step to power--T-shirts. Who's up for buying some?
Here was my really dopey idea (thought the blue rose was a nice touch, although I don't know how many people buy gold t-shirts):
Technically it's been fifty-one years, but fifty rolls off the tongue better, so we'll just assume it refers to the fifty years of drought (1959-2008). Of course, we'd find a way better design.
Here are other ideas floating around.
*Some fancy jet painted in blue or gold (danzig, what was your favorite figher jet again?) plastered with a gold or blue #4 on it somewhere)
*A squid entangling a football in his grasp..and the tentacles sort of look like Syd'Quan's dreads...we can put a #5 somewhere on there ... (this might take some talent, anyone know any good artists/Cal fans?) *Any of the catchphrases/taglines that people here are so fond of.
We'll try to do something similar to the Hall of Fame idea in this thread. Ideas that get rec'd the most we'll try our best to push through.
If anyone comes up with any cool designs that everyone likes, we'll try our best to get them distributed, and find a good way to split it between creator, us, and the T-shirt distributors. Since this is our first go-around at it we might try and start with only two or three T-shirt designs
Several questions to ponder:
1) Does anyone know a good online T-shirt design site and/or store to buy custom-designed T-shirts?
2) How much would you be willing to pay for them?
3) Anyone know any good artists who are also diehard Cal fans? Please let them know and tell them to post sample t-shirt designs on this thread!
4) Would people be more willing to buy taglined t-shirts (cheaper, but more obscure) or t-shirts with some sort of image or visual depiction (more expensive but probably easier to relate to fellow Cal fans)?
Let's discuss. Who wants shirts?
