I'm curious...

Has anyone seen Yarnway in action beyond his highlight reel? Is he the real deal? Seems he’s got both the size AND the speed, but just wondering what a local’s perception is.

I did not see him (it was an away game) but his alma mater and my school are in the same league, and apparently he ripped out our heart and stomped on it last year.

I minded when I was in the stands and couldn’t tell which players were which. I eventually learned some of their numbers, but not all of them.

I’m a big fan of having names; why WOULDN’T you want names??? Just so only those of us in the know can tell who scored a TD? Gives the guys personal credit when they do well. And I don’t buy Chip Kelly’s crap rationale about it being a team game so you shouldn’t be able to read who the individuals are. Phil Knight told him to say that.

I kind of liked the no-name jerseys. Aside from the cool-retro feel of it, the promotion of team over individual was a smart move and seemed to actually (gasp) pay dividends in building a stronger unit.

But then again, that also may have been because a massive ego or two was no longer present.

Either way, as long as they win.

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I agree. Tedford really talked about unity issues in 2007 and cared so much about it as to take the names off the jerseys.

Agree. When team unity gets that out of hand, it’s time to yank the names. Believe it or not, it can be a useful tool.

If a player plays differently ‘cause his name is on the back of his jersey, I don’t want him on my team. Bold, but true.

Okay, I LIKE this picture of those three guys ‘cause Sofele looks TOUGH!!! I saw ’Quizz Rogers at the Cal – OSU women’s BBall game in Corvallis and he’s as solid as a 5’8" fullback. Glad to see Sofele is bulky for his height and will, hopefully, lay someone out at the end of a long run.

I like no names

But when Tedford is double numbering with the same numbers on offense and defense, that has got to be confusing for opposing team’s media.

At least Al Davis isn't running my team's drafts.
