University of California junior center fielder Brett Jackson became the fourth-highest draft pick in Golden Bear baseball history when he was selected in the first round by the Chicago Cubs, and was the 31st pick overall, during the opening day of the 2009 Major League First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday, June 9. Jackson is the third first-round pick for the Golden Bears since 2000 under head coach David Esquer.

Also, Blake Smith to the Dodgers

Jeff Kobernus to the Nationals.

Wow

Now with 3 players picked in the first two rounds, I’m wondering why Cal Baseball couldn’t have better than a 500 record.

At least Al Davis isn't running my team's drafts.

So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!

shhhhh. I don’t have anything else to add and the sport is on hardly on anyone’s radar at Cal. I suppose I could, but I’d hate to be known as a rebel rowzer (yes, I actually just typed that with almost a straight face).

I’ll start my research on this topic.

it’s kinda disappointing that this program isn’t really on most people’s radar. college baseball is getting more and more popular, but cal’s program is being left behind.

So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!

Well

our pitching was pretty terrible this year. Our offense was one of the best in the Pac-10 though, which is why all these guys got drafted (although I think the Dodgers will try to develop Blake Smith as a pitcher)
