Cal beat writer Jonathan Okanes will be hosting a LiveChat on June 25th from 1:30pm to 2:30 pm with extra special guest Jahvid Best.
Since this is a special event, it seems appropriate to gather up a series of questions that readers would like answered, especially since not everyone will have the time or freedom to spend an hour following the chat. Like a traditional CGBcratic election, you should rec the comments you like so they stand out among the chaff. I don't recall JO ever having a guest player answer questions, and he certainly hasn't had someone as well-known as Best as a special guest. This is a unique opportunity for all of us and we could learn some fun facts from The Jet. What's his favorite restaurant in Berkeley? Well, like I sad, theres no judgment i brainstrming. I do agree with Spazzy that we should try to show some modicum of respectability here. So, some of the “Youv been runnig throughmy head al nightlong” questions probably arent th most prudent thing to ask. But my understanding was that the reason for this post was to brainstorm questions to ask Best. Not to ask for the Welcome Sherriff’s benevolent grace onwhich questions to ask.
So, let’s see which ones turn green and then narrow it down from there.

Former Cal runningback Marshawn Lynch’s weakness going into the draft was supposedly his pass blocking skills. Do you feel your pass blocking skills are up to par? Whenever I ran a sprint in track the only basic thought was “get ahead of that guy.” So I’m guessing his only thought would be something along the lines of “get past that guy” over and over again. Although he has probably 5 seconds to think that, whereas I had anywhere from 1-2 minutes to ‘think,’ so he’s probably even more instinctual.

No, that’s not a question for Best. I’m wondering, so we compile the most recommended questions, are we then going to democratically divide them up for each person to ask, or what’s the plan?

We just want to make sure we have enough good questions to ask them so it doesn’t turn into a “Syd on offense” fest. If Best responds to the Qs from this site we put up his answers somewhere either in the comments or update it in the post. It’ll be like a group CGB interview!
I’ll let Berk decide what he wants to do though.
This is what I had in mind. Because not everyone can spend an hour not working/doing productive things asking questions to Best, I thought this would be a good way to gather up the questions we most want answered (which are those with the most recs). On the day of the livechat, we can figure out who is present and divide up the questions accordingly. Like Avi said, it would be a great idea to post the answers to the questions in a post not unlike a group interview.

It sounds like on June 24 or so, somebody should collate these questions into a new list of “selected questions” and then we can pick from that list the most impressive sounding.

What we should probably do is annoint several different people to ask the questions. So, its not like Berk alone trying to get questions through. Split them up amongst 3 or 4 different people and the liklihood of CGB Approved Questions getting through is much higher.
