APR Rates-- You're going to LOVE this

Note: Edited due to my misremembering the information on Ted Miller's blog. UCLA is in fact 1 spot LOWER than previously written. UW comes in at #4.

If this has already been discussed, then I apologize, but I didn't see it anywhere in the fan posts, and I figured it deserves it's own discussion here. The latest Academic Progress Rates are out, and you can probably guess who is #1: Stanford. But that's not the awesome part.

1. Stanford 984

2. Cal 970

3. USC 956

4. UW 954

5. UCLA 948

What I found interesting about this whole ordeal, is all we have heard the last few years is how much more intelligent UCLA's players are then the rest of the Pac-10, hell MAYBE EVEN THE COUNTRY. Numbers don't lie Bruins. Both USC and Cal, who you HATE, are actually, indeed, SMARTER THAN YOU.

Let the Oregon State shit talking begin, say what you will, but its UCLA that this concerns.

The opinions expressed in a FanPost are, in every way, reflective of the opinions of every California Golden Blogs Marshawnthusiast. Moreover, they are reflective of every employee of SBNation, including Tyler "Blez" Bleszinski.

Another interesting tidbit, that only 2 Pac10 schools fell below the APR penalty line of 925. I wonder how the other conferences stack up. I’m sure that Pac10 remains supreme on FBS conferences.

we posted about it ad naseum (law term) in the DBD, but you can’t really be expected to wade through that swamp. Thanks for fanposting it though! this continues the trend of people posting APR results on other boards (rocksanddirt posted in on BN)

Yeah I figured it was in there but I figured what the hell

In case people didn’t see it there, it’d be easy to debate here

Ahead in all categories

APR, U.S. news college rankings, Director’s cup (just to throw that in there)…
Neuweasel and Bruinsnation can cry all they want, but the numbers tell a different story.
higher academic standards for recruits, huh? well I guess it’s not the same for admitted athletes. Also, is it just me or does it seem as though UCLA has a better recruiting class than Cal in football year after year? Not to mention that they have elite recruits in basketball, so I don’t see how that excuse holds up.

I am impressed about USC. Now, who did they pay to get those numbers? I want names, people!

I saw this too

Can’t say I’m surprised by these numbers, though apologists for Ucla will be all over either some sort of grade inflation conspiracy at Cal, or that the poor numbers by their football players actually proves the classes are more difficult in Westwood High.

Of course, then there are the basketball numbers, which show Uclas players very high while Cal’s are pretty bad. In that instance, of course the good people at bn would conclude it proves that only the smarter students enter Ucla.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. All this really says is that our football team is progressing better along the lines prescribed by the NCAA and according to the criteria, they do better academically.

Doesn’t matter. babybruins are still a pack of stinky doo-dooheads with a girly blue color and icky faces.

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
