USC-California to be broadcast in primetime on ABC
We have our first football telecast confirmation. USC-California will be broadcast on Saturday Night Football on ABC, kickoff sometime past 8 PM EST, 5 PM PST on October 3rd.
It is still too early to tell whether the game will be nationally or regionally televised, but it certainly doesn't hurt the odds of College Gameday coming to Strawberry Canyon.
ABC/ESPN will be releasing the rest of their Pac-10 schedule soon enough.

Not surprised by this. If both teams come into the game undefeated and Gameday doesn’t come to Berkeley Lee Corso should be given to Cal fans as a sacrifice.

Far far far to far speculations about competing matchups for gameday
LSU @ Georgia
Oklahoma @ Miami
and of course…
UCLA @ Stanford!
The #1 greatest threat to America: BEARS
Tough to believe CBS wouldn’t pick up that LSU @ UGA game.
Also, I think UGA might have 2 or more losses going into that game. They’ll have already played OkSt, SoCarolina, and AzSt. Beyond LSU@UGA there isn’t really anything to compare. The only thing I wonder about is whether or not the stadium being under construction would dissuade them from doing it.
CBS will certainly pick up that game.
But GameDay has appeared at games that it wasn’t broadcasting before. I’m pretty sure they have.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
You're right
Interesting, I didn’t realize that they did that. From the wikipedia:
In 1993, GameDay began broadcasting live from outside a stadium hosting a game most Saturdays. The selected stadium is usually hosting one of the biggest matchups of the day, regardless of whether the game airs on an ESPN network
Semi-hilarious note. Apparently Tim Brando was a founding host of Gameday. Now he works for CBS, where Gameday might well be for that game.
What are the odds on Corso hopping aboard some heavy construction equipment outside the stadium, while donning that Cal hardhat the running backs have been wearing in recent seasons on the sideline, symbolizing a job well done?

ABC/ESPN pick up two more Cal games.
The Cal-Maryland contest will kick off at 7 p.m. from Memorial Stadium and will be shown nationally on ESPN2. In addition, Cal’s Sept. 26 game at Oregon will start at 12:30 p.m. and will be shown on ABC, while the USC at Cal matchup on Oct. 3 will start at 5 p.m. and also air on ABC.

Looks like PLENTY of early exposure
win all these games (wow, I’d be so thrilled) and we’d have to be sitting pretty top-five.
Good stuff, will put that up in a bit.
