Cassius Marsh Commits
Thus bringing the total to 3 for 2010 (all top 100 recruits). This is obvious proof that the SAHPC is having a positive effect on recruiting as these guys will probably be the first class to enjoy 4 years of SAHPC.
Our committs for 2010 so far...

Thanks to the SAHPC... and
Much love to recruiting coordinator Kenwick Thompson and lead recruiter Tosh Lupoi who are really getting after it. As it’s configured now, the entire coaching staff is a great mix of teachers and recruiters (with a budding superstar in Tosh Lupoi, it would seem). I’ll give a CGB shout out to Cassius later.

Why did you italicize Kenwick Thompson and bold Tosh Lupoi?

I meant to bold both… but there is no Edit button

if you read the related article on bearinsider, marsh mentions that it’s apparently cal’s policy that they actually encourage their recruits to take all of their visits to other schools even after they’ve committed. if that isn’t classy, i dont know what is. i’d certainly love to see if neuheisel could even remotely be open to a policy like that

Well, I suppose it’s classy. But I also think Cal does that for its own protection. In reality, you want kids who 100% absolutely WANT to come to your school because your school is their TOP #1 choice. In this day and age with the NCAA using the APR rating system, you can’t afford to fall below par and lose scholarships. Thus, I don’t think Cal is allowing their commitments to take their visits to be classy, but rather that Cal really wants to make sure that these kids see Cal as their #1 choice and they WANT to be here, and won’t drop out or transfer so as to not lower Cal’s APR rating.

Okay, this is totally going to expose my total non-acronymical coolness (yet another reason I’d never fit in over at bn), but what the hell is SAHPC?
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The SAHPC is cool and I’m sure helps in recruiting, but I’m not clear on how these commitments are obvious proof. I get the sense that recruiting is a little more complicated than that.
But hey, if all it takes to recruit 18 year old football players is shiny new facilities, sign me up!

Great pick up for Cal. Looks like a solid if not spectacular addition to the DL. I like that he is described him as mean and nasty.
Also because it gives them a chance to develop a pipeline with Oaks Christian, especially if they can pick up Kohler or Stout later this year. I would think this has to improve our chances with them, no?
Hibernating until next season.

There’s an amusing thread at wearesc on this. It was started by a trolling Cal fan (there’s really no need to go brag about a commit this far in advance when people can still change their minds), but it brought out the SC trolls. Mass amusement:
