Anyway, good luck Beavs. May you propel Max Hall high into the air

Straight from the airport to the tailgate. I might die.

Is it rong that I think Cal’s gonna get rolled tomorrow? I just don’t see this going well. Just a gut feeling, and I hope I’m wrong. It’s OK if they lose, so long as they show up. That would be a scenario that we haven’t seen in 2009.

by scotty256 on Dec 22, 2009 10:10 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Not surprising, I guess
These Mountain West teams have a lot to play for against the Pac-10. And Oregon State had no real reason to care about this game, especially after getting stuck in a second-tier bowl game after almost making the Rose Bowl.
It doesn’t bode well for tomorrow.
by bear88 on Dec 22, 2009 10:39 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
My first thought seeing this unfold...
…was that this might be the downside to the Pac-10 scheduling regular season games on that first weekend in December. I understand the thought of extending the season (i.e., staying relevant while the other conferences play their championship games on 1st Saturday in December). Not to take anything away from BYU, but I can’t help but think OSU still had a hangover from the disappointment in the Civil War. Who wouldn’t be disappointed? They went from Rose Bowl to Maaco Bowl, and then had to play just 19 days after the Civil War loss.
The other conferences that play games on the 1st weekend in December don’t have this problem. The losers of those conference championship games go to bowls played on December 30 or later.
Praise be to Tedford!
