NFL Open Thread Week 14
Here in the Bay, we get Saints-Falcons right now and Dallas-SD later. I guess the Raiders are blacked out again. Niners play tomorrow night. Use this thread to discuss all the action. GO BEARS (Cal, that is!).

Peyton Manning
He already has two touchdown passes midway through the first quarter. The Colts have a 14-0 lead and they just stopped the Broncos on fourth down.

Dude, i NEVER rooted for Gerhardt. EVAIR. It hurts that you would say that.
I like TO for 2 reasons:
1) One of the greatest things I have ever seen in professional football: The Sharpie.

It was ingenious, it was showmanship, it was brilliant. I remember where I was when I saw that.
2) For all his antics, I have to admire T.O. because you never see him get in any trouble. Not hitting people with cars, not shooting people, not shooting himself, no assault charges, no drug charges, no infidelities, no trouble at strip clubs – nothing. With so many athletes unable to control themselves, to the point that commissioners have had to invoke conduct policies, it’s nice to see someone who doesn’t do all that crap. Or at knows how to hide it.
As for Kobe – I’m a lifelong Lakers fan, what do you expect? He’s one of the greatest ever to play the game, and he’s on my team. I respect his skills as a player, and HE BRINGS HOME THE HARDWARE.

not shooting himself,
tbf, he did allegedly intentionally overdose on hydrocodone.

Ok, so the dude popped too much Vicodin once. That was a cry for help. Probably means he’s suffering from depression – or maybe he’s bipolar. Clearly, he needs help to deal with his condition.
That is waaaaaay different than bringing a gun into a club or getting into a fight at a strip club, or getting caught smoking weed in a car with your friends. Those are just stupid decisions.

The Cowboys are in fine late-season form here.

Got a pretty sharpish offensive game on SNF
The Pheagles jumped out to a 14-0 start but the Giants scored 10 on the trot before the Eagles kicked a field goal. 17-10 with six or seven minutes left in the first half. Desean’s got two catches for 48.

Jackson with 3 catches for 92 yards with a 67 yard punt return touchdown. Solid.

Newsflash:
DeSean Jackson is good.
Make that 4 catches, 152 yards and a receiving touchdown to go with his return touchdown.
Apparently he has 8 TDs of 50+ yards this year. Not bad.

It will end in watchable NFL football! which is rare enough in and of itself to be valuable.

Any team could use him any year, to be exact.
The West Coast Offense sprinkled with some Michael Vick as most deadly wildcat in the league… a thing of beauty.

An Eagles-Saints playoff game on turf could be fantastic.

Minnesota and Green Bay will both have a lot to say about that though. Man, the top of the NFC is stacked this year IMO
