Three-star prospect Jay Guy (Houston/Eisenhower) has committed to sign with Nebraska following an official visit to Lincoln, ESPN's Gerry Hamilton reports.
Guy, who was previously committed to Cal, picked the Huskers over the Bears and UCLA.

Well, he was waffling a long time before this. It really isn’t all that surprising. Let’s just make sure to old onto Carter, Whiteside, etc
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.

Good GPA doesn't mean your smart.
Who in their right mind would want to play in Lincoln (cold winter and hot summers) when you could play at Cal?

Guy probably thinks he can play as a true freshman at NE.
Guy is likely slated to be Ndamukong Suh’s heir apparent at the nose position, even though his stature more closely recalls that of LSU standout Glenn Dorsey. He had been a soft verbal commit to California, and had the Golden Bears and UCLA in his final three with NU. He had offers from Michigan, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Missouri, among other schools.

Recruiting jargon
Why are verbal commitments called ‘commitments’ if they’re non-binding and recruits can change their minds anytime before signing day?

Because you have to call them something?

That would be kind of rude, imo.

It’s easier to say than “Non written and non binding statement of present intent and the current time, subject to change after persuasion by coaches, family, on field occurrences, or my state of mind, or combination thereof.”

I think “intent” would actually be a good one.

I hope it is part of a trend where everybody wear their clothes backwards, Kriss Kross style.
