Around SBN: MLB Trade Deadline: Astros' fans react to Oswalt trade

I have a friend who is one of the cal coaches, and he got me on the field before the game, followed by a tour of the locker and weight rooms, the coaches' offices, and finally dinner in the Hall of Fame room with the coaching staff, Joe Starkey, and Adam Duritz. Here is the video of the team coming onto the field. Look who walks by at the end!

DUDE. You just described like every single cal fan’s dying wish. Be honest, what kind of bribe would it take to get a similar experience?? Firstborn child?

I'm not gonna lie

It was pretty sweet. I have some pics, but I want to ask him first if he has any problem with me putting them online. I don’t have nearly as many pics as I’d like though. Everyone in the Hall of Fame room was acting like regulars, and certainly no one was taking pictures. I did sneak one of the Big Game display, though. I made up for my lack of pics with an absolutely dominating performance on the quesadilla and nacho bar, though. I have a great one of Tedford’s locker, and I got to bench press in the Cal weight room. All in all, it was freaking amazing.

So, no photo of the original Golden Bear banner?

a tragedy

but no. I wasn’t even privy. That’s the kind of thing I’d be willing to embarass myself for.

It’s in a glass case in the Hall of Fame room, and although it’s pretty tattered, it’s beautiful, especially if you try to imagine things that’ve happened at Cal

…since that track team from the unknown school in the West showed it off when they beat the Eastern schools at their own meet.

and regarding the bribe

He gets me two tix whenever I want with the coaches wives on the 40, about row 20, alumni side. So it’s gonna be steep. Especially since he often calls me a “recruit” from a high school: I’m 29 and weigh 220 (and certainly not all muscle). I’ve gotten some weird looks, and I’ve taken way too many offical visits.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J.
