There's no way he should be playing in either of the remaining regular season games
I guess there might be enough time until the bowl game that you could plausibly make a case for letting him play in that one. Frankly, I’d feel more comfortable declaring him out for the season.

Tedford's approach to Jahvid's injury
seems absolutely the correct one. Obviously, Best wants to get back on the field, and he most likely wants to play this season. In contrast to Urban Meyer—who openly speculated about what game Tebow would come back for almost as soon as he was knocked out—JT has not even acknowledged that the medical staff has a time table for Best’s return. He’s keeping all the pressure off Best, which is a classy thing to do

Me, too.
This early week declaration that he’s out gives me peace of mind. I’m worried about him and just want him to get better.
Bee tee dubs, was Best still on the sideline at the end of the game? There was some doubt (I inferred from the broadcast) that it was unclear how long he’d be able to stay.
Praise be to Tedford!
I don’t know if he was on the field at the end of the game, but he was definitely still at the stadium. We followed the band out of the North Tunnel after the game, and Jahivd was sitting on a golf cart, being driven out of the stadium behind the band, smiling and waving to the fans around him. My nephew asked Jahvid if he was feeling good, and he said “yeah.” My nephew got this on video, and now regards himself as having an exclusive interview with Jahvid Best.

Sit, Jahvid, Sit
I, too, am glad to see Jahvid’s banged-up head getting another week off, and I hope the cautious approach keeps him out of the Washington game as well.
If multiple physicians give him the green light, and if Jahvid and his family want him to play, then I’d like to see the Cal coaching staff let him suit up for a bowl game—at his discretion. Given that it might very well be his last game with the Bears, it seems only right to let him finish his career on a high note, competing with his teammates on the field.

I have nothing to say here which
hasn’t already been typed. MAYBE the bowl game if everything is ok.
Jahvid's Out, Tiger's in on the 'furd bandwagon
Tiger will be honorary captain for Stanford sat., and will attend the game. That makes 20,001 Stanfurd fans in attendance.
Pretty much sums up my thoughts
As much as I love seeing Jahvid running on the field, I want him to sit out for his own health.
I’d much rather see him running the ball again once he’s fully recovered. Go Bears!
On the one hand, I’m glad he is being held out and will get healthy. On the other hand, I’m not going to lie, I’m disappointed not to see Jahvid in another Big Game.
Woods as captain . . . well, the bandwagon alumni starting to show up.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
So if Jahvid doesn't return next year
It means that he would have played in only one Big Game in his 3 years at Cal.
stanfurd got off easy.
Praise be to Tedford!
Then again, he inflicted a career’s worth of damage on the Cardinal in that one glorious appearance.
Go Bears!

Burn Fanua’s redshirt, send him out there to strip Gerhart and take it back for six!

Sounds like I’m on the only one here who wouldn’t mind having Jahvid back for the UW game if he’s 100% healthy.

I’d be OK with that too, hydro. I trust the medical staff and they won’t clear him until it’s the right time. So if they say he’s good to go 4 weeks after the injury, then he’s good to go for UW.
However, it does make me proud to be a Cal Bear fan to see our fans more concerned with his health than with his playing. It’s great to see that attitude permeate from the front office to the medical staff to the fans. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be very concerned and want to see him sit perhaps longer than necessary.
