CABLE CAR RALLY
Union Square, San Francisco
Noon
Join the Cal Band, Dance Team, Mic Men, UC Rally Committee, and Oski as they spread the Cal spirit around the city of San Francisco. It all begins at Ghirardelli Square when the band and spirit groups board Cable Cars to Union Square. You can join the rally when they arrive at Union Square at Noon. There will be a one-hour performance in Union Square from Noon to 1:00pm. Admission is free.
While in Union Square, stop by Nike Town (located on the corner of Post & Stockton) and Enter to win Bowl Game tickets to see the Bears participate in postseason action this year. The deadline for entries is Friday, December 10 at Nike Town in San Francisco. Show your “True Blue” spirit and stock up on Cal licensed merchandise.

Do you have to be a student to go to the bonfire rally? My nephew, who is still in high school, wants to go, but I don’t know if they require student ID to get in.

Not at all! Free for everyone, it’s really a community event rather than just a student one.
The UC Rally Committee once again presents the largest permitted bonfire west of the Mississippi River! Come enjoy skits, performances, and recitations of Cal history by all the Cal spirit groups, other student organizations, and alumni while watching the fire. Doors open to the Greek Theater at 6pm on Friday night, November 20th and close promptly at 7pm.

The band shows up later, but people start congregating earlier.

Since the bonfire rally and SF festivities are at about the same time, does the band split up and go to the different events? Or is there some time machine they hop into?
Sure wish I was in the bay area!
For those of you in Boston, there’s a “miniminiBonfire Rally and Bar Crawl” Friday at 8pm starting at the Baseball Tavern on Boylston, and a game watch party at the Cask & Flagon – we’ve reserved half the restaurant, will have food, entertainment, and Cal spirit! See http://calnewengland.org/ for more info and tickets (food included). These are both joint Cal/Stanfurd events and should be a lot of fun.
