Vote for your CGB Top-25 for Week 10!
You know the drill: Go here and vote for the top 25 teams for week 10.
The directions are listed on the voting page and it should be simple enough. Please let me know if you encounter any troubles. The results will be posted either on Tuesday or Wednesday. Blah blah blah blah
Important: There are two bugs on the poll that I haven't fixed it yet but I hope to soon! So be careful. You can vote for the same team twice (ask rags how). Don't do it! Also if you drop a team out (by pressing X) and then in the drop down select another team and then want to vote the original team back in... you can't. So try not to do that m'kay?
The previous week's results are located:
Preseason
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
Week 6
Week 7
Week 8
Week 9
Let's aim to get more than a dozen ballots people!

Whose domicile? OUR DOMICILE!
You do realize that Stanford slapped 51 on Oregon, right?

I know I know. Oregon has “better” losses (and fewer), which gives them a slight edge. It already felt bizarre enough to rank Stanford that high, not that they don’t deserve it though.

If you throw away head to head results (recent ones at that) then what are we truly ranking? You are walking a dangerous line.

Head-to-head is important to a degree, but when you have teams in the same conference that share so many common opponents I really don’t feel head-to-head is very meaningful in most situations. Their total body of work against all the opponents they share is much more meaningful.

You were never ranking anything objective to begin with. There is no line, only varying degrees of absurdity.

I’ve been saying this at one time or another all year. LSU belongs down there in the Iowa/Penn State Strata For Teams That Didn’t Play Anyone Except For the Teams They Lost To.

Who you talkin’ ’bout “we,” half-breed!?
lol j/k, the difference between Cal and LSU is that nobody is trying to pass us off as a top 10 team. I guess I can’t really front that hard on LSU, they’re a good team; just not top 10 good.

They are kind of an unstoppable wrecking machine in their conference.

Used Sagarins rankings (his predictor rankings) as a starting point again, made a few adjustments. Still cannot figure out where some of those rankings are coming from – initially it had Oklahoma as #7, despite being 0-3 against Top 30 teams. So I moved them off. I will never include Texas and Stanford on any ballots. I moved Arkansas down a few spots. Moved Ole Miss down a couple spots. Both had poor records against other Top 30 teams. Arizona got left out because of a glitch in the system, they would have been late 20’s. Theoretically this should be a strict resume ranking…so that’s where the results come from. I just wish I had the formula and could identify exactly what some of these teams are doing to get ranked where they are…

I think his rankings are the worst rankings I’ve ever seen in my life.

Ok, do you have any actual reasons why? He’s been doing this a long time and seems to me to have a pretty good grasp on statistical forecasting (a subject I know a thing or two about), and, though I’ve never seen an actual study done on how accurate his projections are, I would very confidently take them over any “pundit” ESPN throws our way by far…

Sorry
I was looking at the poll you posted and I thought it was his.

Yeah, I get the joke…but it basically is his poll (at least in order of his predictor ratings, which aren’t allowed in the BCS formula because they take point differential into account). I only moved around 4-5 teams…

Yea I totally forgot about this
And I left the instructions on how to prepare the results at home… fuck. Well I’ll post it tonight
In other words, Go Bears!
