South Florida, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Texas Tech, Tennessee, West Virginia, Arkansas, Boston College, Mississippi
Dropped out this week:
California, Notre Dame
Biggest Difference from AP Poll:
Texas -3, South Florida -3, Arizona +3, Virginia Tech +3, Pittsburgh -4, Oregon State +5, Oregon +6, Houston -6, Wisconsin -7, Oklahoma +15
Biggest Difference from BCS Poll:
Iowa -4, Virginia Tech +4, Houston -4, Oregon +5, West Virginia -6, Wisconsin -8, Stanford UNR, Clemson UNR, Oklahoma UNR
I should note that I'm now including teams that we ranked but wasn't ranked by BCS as UNR, as opposed to considering them at #26 like I used to.
I'll say that this week's poll is widly crazy. I mean if things such as not dropping Oregon that much is a good thing, then ranking Oklahoma at #25 (which I'm guilty of) is a bad thing. The top-10 gets shuffled around a little with Oregon falling a bit and both Iowa and LSU dropping completely out of the top-10. A good thing to note is that Oregon is still ranked above USC who is ranked above Ohio State. Both Iowa and Penn St suffer the most from their losses, dropping 8 spots and 6 spots respectively, while Ohio State and Stanford (!) rise the most by 5 spots and 13 spots respectively. Other than that it's just a lot of shuffling around. And there's no sign for Notre Dame, which means we're getting closer to another season without Notre Dame in a BCS bowl!
The Biggest Homer Award goes to...
... NO ONE, because apparently everyone thinks Cal sucks!
This award was presented to the user(s) who loved Cal the most out of everyone who voted this week
Well what did you expect?!
The OMG Cal Sux Award goes to...
... EVERYONE, all of whom did not vote for Cal!
This award was presented to the user(s) who held a glass half-empty look at Cal
So sad to see Cal unranked and Stanfurd ranked. Argh!
The Five Most Confusing Teams Were...
- Oklahoma
- Clemson
- Houston
- Utah
- Brigham Young
Most people had the most trouble figuring out where these five teams belonged. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only.
Of course Oklahoma was confusing. It's still ranked! And Clemson is confusing because people still have their loss to Maryland in mind.
The Five Least Confusing Teams Were...
- Stanford
- Alabama
- Florida
- TCU
- Texas
Most people were generally on the same page when it came to these teams. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only otherwise all the crappy teams would top this list.
Oh Stanford. How you taunt us.
The Five Most Divergent Voters Were...
- racsan
- royrules22
- BeastMode
- Berkelium97
- GBB4188
This avard was given to the five voters whose poll differed most from the overall Top 25.
Both rascan and my ballots looked mightly similar with both of us voting for Oklahoma at #22 and neither of us voting for Clemson. About the only difference I can make out is that I voted Houston closer to the final result then he did. BeastMode came in third for his ridculously high vote for Stanford (#18) and South Florida (#20) while pushing in Nebraska to #25 and not voting for Clemson.
The Five Least Divergent Voters Were...
- DougOLis
- Ohio Bear
- Missing Barry
- Rated-R Superstar
- Takimoto
This avard was given to the five voters whose poll differed the least from the overall Top 25.
When I first quickly scanned over all the ballots I noticed that Missing Barry had Clemson at #11 and though "he's going to be most divergent again!". Boy how wrong I was! DougOLis had no crazy votes. Perhaps the only variation was Stanford at #20 and Clemson at #15. And like I promised no yelling at you for voting for Stanford. :(
