Eating the Enemy: Bye Week
I know it's a bye week, but I figured we could all use a little comfort food during our time in need. From Honey.com:

- Makes 2 pints - Grate rind from lemons to measure 4 teaspoons; set aside. Squeeze juice from lemons to measure 3/4 cup pour lemon juice through fine strainer, discarding seeds and pulp. Combine rind, juice and honey in 6-quart saucepan, stirring well. Bring mixture to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Quickly stir in pectin. Return mixture to a rolling boil, and boil, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Remove from heat; skim off foam with metal spoon, if necessary. Pour jelly quickly into 2 hot, sterilized pint jars, filling to 1/4 inch from tops; wipe jar rims. Cover immediately with metal lids and screw on bands. Process jars in boiling water bath for 5 minutes. Cool jars on wire rack.

Just wondering
How many people are still interested in general college football now that Cal is back in the pack?
Email: bearsnecessities@gmail.com
My interest has dropped severely...
But I still enjoy watching the games. Honestly its hard to tell though because when Cal wins I’m all about watching other games, and when they lose I don’t want to see another football until Sunday when I can watch my Raiders lose as expected…
So I’ll be more apt to gauge after this weekend, with the bye and all…
I feel like I would enjoy a good game regardless still, but the whole who beats who to move the rankings where, I couldn’t care less about now
I hear El Paso is beautiful in December....
Put it this way: I am immensely glad Cal isn’t playing this week so there’s no chance for the Bears to ruin my enjoyment of all the other games on this week. (Basically what I’m saying is I’m a stone junkie for college football.)

about the same
I enjoy watching what ever games are on, but really don’t give a rats ass about any of them.
Go Bears Go
Massive.
Now NFL, that’s another matter…God gets Sunday back when the Redskins suck.
But college football is one of those “any teams, any time” kind of things. So is college basketball. I foresee marital difficulties now that we have HD…
Sitll totally love CFB but need to emotionally prepare for each game first
Was at the gym today and saw an ESPN commercial on the CFB season. Near the end of the commercial, they flashed a Jahvid Best run. I forgot to breathe for about five seconds and almost fell off the treadmill. I can’t lie. It still hurts a little.
I’ll still try to watch as much as possible. Even if I have to make myself even busier for the rest of the week, I’ll clear out my schedule so I can relax and watch a couple games on Saturdays. College football is the one sport where I can watch pretty much any two teams play and still be at least mildly entertained (which explains how I sat through that awful Sun Bowl last year).
Also, it’s nice to watch Cal’s future opponents throughout the season so we know what we’re up against.
Whose domicile? OUR DOMICILE!
My interest is on life support
If I have time, I still watch games of intrigue (for example LSU vs Florida) and have them on in the background while I do work. Still, now that Cal is on the outside of the top 25 looking in, my interest in CFB in general is much lower. I’m still intrigued in Pac 10 games the most, but it’s gonna be hard to stomach paying close attention if Stanford/USC/UCLA ends up getting the crown (the team I’d like to see win most: OSU, for some reason).
On the other hand, NFL has been very intriguing to me this year because this is the first year I’ve been in a fantasy league. Also kind of lets me keep tabs on former Bears cause I have Desean Jackson and Aaron Rodgers on my team. Definitely makes you pay more attention to other games as well so you can get good match-ups. I’ve got a pretty tough opponent this week!
Oh and of course I'll still be watching Cal games on the weekends as long as I can find a way
because I’m a masochist.
This is the wettest field I’ve seen since that one bowl last year with Ball State and Tulsa. God I love football in the elements.

Not only do I love this game (though I don’t love it as much as my dog, who I took for a walk for most of the 2nd quarter), I love the fact that I’m up against Yellow Fever this week and YF is starting Yo Gabba Gabbert.

His stats are still pretty weak so far and that play made me so happy so yes. Seriously, gimpy quarterback runs a zone read keeper on 4th and goal with 2 seconds to go on a complete dice-roll gamble in the driving rain in a 2 point game. That’s good stuff.

Also Mizzou is the university of Donald Draper so I can’t help but root for them.

It’s relevance and meaning are overstated, but as a collection of awesome characters doing awesome things in an awesome setting it’s superb.

Playing as Wisconsin on NCAA 10 is pretty fun as an alternative.

Oh man Yellow Fever has only gotten 6 points out of Gabba Gabbert so far (though he got a touchdown out of that Nebraska TE). Let’s do this thing.
