I really dig how you show the presnap formations. Thanks for doing this vid!
btw: if you ever get any weird sounding email responses from me…just ignore my answer and check to see if you’re asking me to self incriminate myself in writing.
song
hey, stupid q, but what is the song you have playing in the background? it’s good!
I also appreciate that you pause the vid briefly so we can get a better look at the pre-snap formation. Nothing angers me more than when ESPN shows the announcers talking in the booth or some other unrelated image and then immediately cuts to the play the moment it is snapped, so I can’t see who is on the field in which formation.
Also, bravo for going back and watching the game over again and pulling highlights out of it. I’m downloading it now (at 16kbps, come on seeders!), but I don’t think I’ll ever watch it.
Whose domicile? OUR DOMICILE!
Y’know, seeing all of the team’s highlights in a row is almost enough to make you forget that our Bears lost 30-3.
Almost.
Proud to hold season tickets to the only NBA team soon to be owned by a Russian oligarch.

Yeah that was the best looking 30-3 route I've ever seen!
Way to keep it glass half full!
Though I’m a little disappointed you didn’t have the field goal at the end, I was hoping for “The Bear will not Quit… The Bear Will Not Die…” [Insert Field Goal Highlight]
But all in all a great way to summarize an otherwise demoralizing loss.
Go Bears!
I hear El Paso is beautiful in December....
Anyone know where there is video of the botched tricked play: Vereen on the sideline being over thrown?
TIA.

Watching it over and over won’t make you feel any better. I tried.
I could watch that highlight over and over
I loved everything about that play (except Riley’s throw, of course). Had it gone for 6 it would have been one of the most satisfying trick plays I have ever seen. I was thrilled when I saw Vereen out there lined up and uncovered on the sideline, especially since USC keyed on on what otherwise looked like an obvious run play.

It didn’t look like it would’ve gone for 6, but who knows. No way he outruns Taylor Mays.

That is what was most frustrating
Vereen and Mays were both at the 40 yard line when he caught it (or where he should have caught it), but Mays was at midfield. Mays was already beaten and all Vereen had to do was get past the cornerback (#26). There was no way Mays would have caught him with that much of a head start.

Yeah, I’m not sure that play would have gone for 6, but it would have been a big gain. Perhaps if Riley looked to his right, to look off the defenders, and given Vereen more time to get down field, then perhaps it could have gone for six (assuming Riley made the throw too).

Ouch just ouch...
The worst thing about missing this opportunity, is our hand has now been played on this play…
Sure it might work some time down the line, but man… that could have been a game changer (or at least made it feel like a closer loss)

TrojanWire did some highlights from the USC perspective
Not sure if anyone would want to watch it, but it’s the first highlight reels that make me feel like I’m at a rave.

That was actually fun to watch. Ieeebear for propaganda minister! Next week he’ll turn Requiem for a Dream into a vaudevillian comedy.
1. I knew Anthony Miller had a good game. I didn’t know he had a GREAT game.
2. First wildcat play in the highlight, Jahvid drags someone for five yards. Very encouraging.
3. The crowd looked and sounded good on the broadcast.
I wonder if the defense turned a corner after the first quarter. The passing numbers allowed are pretty lousy by last year’s standards, but you can’t argue with holding USC’s running game to 4 yards a carry. (Might just be because the USC playcalling was pretty unduplicitous, just straight up run on running downs and pass on passing downs. On the other hand I could be completely wrong about that too.) I can’t think that we’ll ever be as good as we thought we’d be, but we could be pretty OK anyway.

It was fantastic."

I agree. We performed fairly well last week after the first quarter. Either that or USC took the pedal off, which they normally do these days.
