Arizona State-Cal Women's Volleyball Open Thread
This is one of two remaining live women's volleyball games that'll be on TV (CSN California), first serve should be a little past 1 PM PST. They just came off a huge victory against #16 Arizona, so cheer these women on! Coach Feller seems pleased that the girls get a day in-between for rest and recovery.
"One of the advantages that we have this weekend is we have a day in between," Feller said. "We get to have a designated practice for the second match which we don't get that often. We'll have a chance to work a little harder in prep for Friday night's match than usual. We don't have to divide our time."
Good luck ladies. If anyone gets a stream link, post it in the comments!

Is ASU any good Danzig? (at least, based on high pac-10 standards)
The #1 greatest threat to America: BEARS
However, because our RPI sucks, we NEED every win. Right now we’re outside the bubble, in terms of making it into the NCAA tourney. We need this win.
How big is the tourney? how many Pac-10 teams get in?

Looking down the schedule, how good do you think our record has to be to make the tourney?

It’s pretty clear. We still play Wash, Oregon, UCLA and Stanford. We WILL lose at least two. If we lose three or four… we’re out of the tourney. Simple as that.
FYI
I know I’m being waay pessimistic, but this team just frustrates me.
If history repeats itself, the top Big10/Big12 teams will keep riding up the rankings escalator because their conference isn’t as deep. Pac10 teams usually start dropping in RPI as they near the end of the season. Happens each year because the Pac10 just beats up on each other. We’re #15 right now but expect us to drop out the rankings by the end of the year. How far out of the rankings? Don’t know… but I do know the Big10 looks great this year and will prevent some of the lower Pac10 teams from going to the tourney.
current standings

…and we already lost to USC once, however I’m 100% sure we’ll kill them when we get them at home.
yikes, seventh? Hopefully the end schedule is easier.
