Cal v. Washington State 10.24.09 Fourth Quarter Thread
Use this thread to discuss the Cal v. WSU 10.24.09 Fourth Quarter. I'm sure it's a taut, close affair featuring back and forth failure by both schools. Listen to Joe Starkey's impressions of the game after, seemingly, watching it through a funhouse mirror here. For those who don't want Starkey, this should hopefully work too. And don't forget to vote in the CGB Insta-poll. GO BEARS!

Because we gave up 17 to WSU.
Because we let WSU have it’s best offensive production in two years
In other words, Go Bears!
this hasn’t been there best offensive production in two years

Wow, our offense better stay hot the rest of the season.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
Should we have the ball carrier kneel after every 20 yard gain?

A tipped ball? Amazing.
Our line doesn’t tip many balls.
We blitzed
Not that that always works or anything.
we don't do it much
but it seems to work pretty well when we do

Tuel's stats so far:
22-31, 288 yards
wow. these are kevin prince-esque-of-last-weekend numbers
i'm here to clean your pool but i don't have a pool *bowchica bowow*
uhhh
NBC is showing the ND players singing their school anthem or something and SUBTITLING it. Weiiiird.
Way to break that long losing streak to Boston College. Sad.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
Then again, we kinda went crazy after beating UCLA. So, yeah.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
Haha perhaps
but I think the really weird part was how they were showing all the words to the song like some kind of Disney-Sing-Along
Who’s going to fit into that monster’s 300 lb jersey?

Oregon game? What Oregon game?
What year is this?
ruh roh
Miami forced to kick a FG in OT. A Clemson TD will win the game.
Whose domicile? OUR DOMICILE!
defense continues to decide to suck it up

I now feel bad because I sorta want Miami to have a good season.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
Clemson wins
What a weird team. They get beaten by Maryland, but beat Miami and come within an Alamar special of beating GTech

Cal pass D...
We make true freshmen look like Super Bowl QBs.
cal is letting a guy named johnny forzani beat them
i suppose there’s some humor in that

"Nobody home for the Bears and it's an easy completion" - Starkey
“Cal’s first team defense still on the field” – Paws
429 yards total offense for WSU
Embarrassing.
506 yards total offense for us, btw.
Praise be to Tedford!
not that bad against a pac-10 team, maybe, but we’re playing wazzu. :)

For all those who voted for Idaho in this week's top-25
They lost 70-45 to Nevada

Reminds me of Houston’s inexplicable loss to UTEP, though Houston has some good wins to their credit.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
Except Houston is kind of good, and Idaho is still Idaho.

I didn’t vote for Idaho in my top 25, or even bother with making a top 25, but I don’t think anyone was trying to say that Idaho was the 25th best team in the country, just that holy crap they have 6 wins at mid season.

I really like that Mumme Poll you’ve been promoting. It’s much easier than trying to find teams like Kansas or Idaho to stuff into the back end of the top-25

... and the wife wants to go to dinner... (it's 6:30 here)
hope sweeny gets to pass some
couldn’t we have brought sweeney in at least for the whole 4th quarter?

not wazzu bad
but definitely near the bottom half of the pac 10 bad.
i'm here to clean your pool but i don't have a pool *bowchica bowow*
Given that we did not give up 49 points, apparently we are not THAT bad.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
but we're not playing us
we’re playing washington state. none of the other pac-10 tetams they’ve played have let them score 17 points.

ASU gave up 14 points to Wazzu. We’re transitively only 3 points worse than Arizona State’s defense! Woooooooooooo!

We’re even worse than Wazzu, at least they allowed 40 points a game!
Wait, that’s not how this works, is it?

Vereen, Debo, Yarnway, Sofele…our running game looks good for years to come. I really like that we’ll have diversity of running backs in upcoming seasons too. A pair of bruisers and a pair of speedsters.
