No Halloween Night Madness: Cal-Arizona State will kickoff on ABC at 12:30 PM PST
There won't be two consecutive TV blackouts--Cal-ASU will be televised regionally on ABC. That's the third Cal game this season televised on ABC. And thankfully we avoid the madness of Tempe at night.

On the other hand, we don’t avoid the heat of Tempe during the day.
It'll be just you, me, and Peter Nincompoop.
Well, with the heat in Pasadena hopefully the guys got at least a taste of what they can expect down there.

Booooooo Dish Network!!!!
Once again I’ll either be streaming a game or forced to watch at a friends house (while unable to dvr the game)… Why the hell can’t Dish Network sign an ABC contract! They had one last year!!!!
Otherwise, this news is good to hear, now I can (hopefully) celebrate a Cal victory while celebrating evil, disguises, candy and booze…

Really?
I’ve only been with them for 3 or so months, I’ll have to call in and ask what’s up… I need my Cal FB fix, and these ABC games are killing me

Where do you live?
If you live on the West Coast it seems like your local ABC affiliate should show the games. You could get it OTA if not on Dish, or just sign up for local channels on DISH (I have DISH and the local ABC station, KGO, comes in just fine). If you are outside the PAC-10 general area, then there could be a problem with the game not being televised in your area, so you’d have to go to ESPN 360 or Game plan or something like that :(
Good luck and Go Bears!

I’m in Santa Cruz and have the local channels included in my package, it may just be an issue with turning the channel on, this happened with Cinemax when I first signed up, I called in and they just needed to press a button at their offices and I had the channel in like 5 min.
My friend had just told me that they didn’t sign an ABC contract this year, so the channel would be unavailable, and I believed it… For Golden Bears sake I think I’ll call in and see what’s up, especially if other customers in the Bay Area are getting ABC with their local TV packages…
Though not having ABC has kept me from watching Desperate Housewives and other ABC shows with the gf on a regular basis, but that trade off isn’t worth missing any more Cal football…

I used to live in Santa Cruz, and I think one of the problems may be that the Santa Cruz area doesn’t actually have its own ABC affiliate. The cable systems pull in the San Francisco affiliate, KGO, but there is no local Santa Cruz/Monterey/Salinas station that carries ABC programming.
Yeah, I’d call Dish. I find it hard to believe they’d deny you a national network like ABC. Probably just an oversight on their part.
Or at the very least
See if they will give you access to an out of market ABC station (probably KABC from LA, which would carry most if not all Cal games on ABC) for those who don’t have one in their local area. I know this is possible for those in very rural areas. Even though Santa Cruz isn’t rural, you might be treated as such since their is no ABC affiliate in the market.
If not, my advice is to try to drop Dish. Not giving you access to a major OTA network is ridiculous.

As I said, Santa Cruz cable companies carry the San Francisco ABC affiliate (which of course would show Cal games). Most likely bringing that up (“Hey, the CABLE COMPANY will give me ABC, but you won’t!”) will get them to give you the channel.
Thanks for the advice...
I guess its time to do some bitching on my lunch break today haha

The average high in Tempe is 86 for October 31st. The record is 96. So, barring disastrous weather again, it shouldn’t be too bad out there.
