CGB Roll Call: Who's Going to Cal-UCLA?
We did that before the Autzen trip, and that turned out great! More f-bombs and speeding tickets for everyone.
Are you going to the game? For those who have been, any tips about what to do in Pasadena when you get there? Any tailgate locations for Cal fans to check out on that huge golf course? This is the place to talk about it!
The opinions expressed in a FanPost are, in every way, reflective of the opinions of every California Golden Blogs Marshawnthusiast. Moreover, they are reflective of every employee of SBNation, including Tyler "Blez" Bleszinski.

I'm going
Not sure where our tailgate will be. Don’t like to hang out in Pasadena, old town has turned into a giant shopping mall.

Possibly Going
Me, my wife, and one of my Old Blue buddies are possibly heading out to the game — with a couple of other old friends who happen to be Uclans. Not sure where the gate will be, though my Old Blue bud has connections to a pretty large mixed party that happens every time Cal comes down.
This may be a game-time decision on our part. If it falls through I suppose I’ll just have to suffer with some cold beers, a bbq and a 60" HDTV.
On ATQ I'm known as JSoCal Oski
It's spelled J-etc
I’m not. So no making fun of me for driving back and forth to LA from Seattle! (actually I’d have flown down and stayed at a friend’s if I was going but I’m not)
In other words, Go Bears!

I'm still going
No idea where the tailgate will be — wherever the parking attendants point us to on the golf course that morning.
As for stuff to do in Pasadena…the Cheesecake Factory is nice, I guess. If you like architecture, the Gamble House by Greene & Greene is pretty cool.
If anyone has ideas for other things to do in and around Pasadena, I’m all ears.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
Does going to LA count as Pasadena?

I’ll have a car, so something within reasonable driving distance (half an hour? 45 min.?) would also be interesting.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
Well in LA traffic 30 minutes is about fifteen feet so you’re pretty limited.

I’ll be going and I have no idea what I’m doing before the game!
Any parking suggestions, based on people’s past experiences?
If you're going to park at the Rose Bowl...
… I suggest getting there very early. Traffic is a mess. Also, bring snacks or something else for after the game. The best times I had was getting really early to the game, BBQ and throw around a frisbee/football, binge drinking, watching the game, then pulling out the BBQ after the game and having something to eat while the disaster that is LA traffic clear up.
Have fun!
Go Bruins!
When I was there with my friends in 2007 we parked in the parking lot of a school and walked to the Rose Bowl. I don’t remember the walk being too long
In other words, Go Bears!
How’d you manage that? I don’t remember any schools being close by enough to park.

Thats only because you arent allowed within 100 feet of a school or church.

I'm trying to remember
I think it was an elementary school. There was a guy and kid waving down cars with a $10 offer to park (may have been a father and son).
Ok after searching on Google I think it was this school:
New Horizon School Pasadena
651 N Orange Grove Blvd
Pasadena, CA 91103-3384
In other words, Go Bears!
Damn, that’s like a mile away, I don’t think my drunk self would be able to make it that.

Don’t be a wimp.
I walked that far, drunk and miserable after that loss in 2007
In other words, Go Bears!
We’re parking inside anyways, so it won’t be a problem. Also, what are some good simple tailgating foods? All we have is: hot dogs & chips. Any ideas?

I’ll be there. For anyone driving who rightfully is weary of parking at the Rosebowl, I highly recommend parking at the Parsons lot on Walnut. I believe it costs 12 dollars, and there is a shuttle near the lot that drops you off right in front of the Bowl.
Some street parking available
There’s some metered parking on the road (Walnut St.) between Parsons and the Rose Bowl. It comes to around $5 depending on how early you arrive and how much you’re willing to risk the game going long. You could then walk down to the stadium or back to Parsons for the shuttle. You may also get lucky and find some free parking along there.
