Eating the Enemy: USC and Thursday Night Open Thread
Because there aren't a whole lot of recipes out there for eating dead warriors from ancient civilizations.
Ingredients 1/2 pint Guinness Stout 1/2 pint Coca-Cola Directions Mix ingredients in a pint glass. Serve in a beer glass. I think we're all going to need a bunch of these to sit through tonight's Open Thread matchup of Colorado vs. West Virginia. I mean, it just doesn't seem fair. Mountaineers vs. Buffaloes? Gold Out: WVU iz doin it rite
So much better of an idea than a Blue Out. It was more like a Blew Out, no wait I right the first time. Blue Out.
What I’m saying is gold stands out at night.
Cal Football: It could happen!
Trojan Horse = Great way to ruin a perfectly fine pint of Guinnes
I’m not opposed to beer cocktails in general, and I even like a Bavarian “radler” (pale “Helles” lager + 7UP) on a warm summer’s day, but a dry Irish stout and Coke? Yuk. Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in that stout, though, and then you’ve got one helluva float.

My understanding is that there are a lot of variations on the theme. My experience in Munich is definitely with lemon-lime soda. I think a British shandy is more often made with a carbonated lemonade.
Saturday night’s game, though, calls for something stronger. I think I might have to treat the wife and myself to a few Golden Bears. If I remember correctly, it’s equal parts 151, SoCo, and Orange Juice, with a float of champagne? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I believe that in most European countries “lemonade” refers to a lemon/lime-flavored carbonated beverage – a radler or shandy is beer + any kind of soda.
CaliforniaPete, I think that the Golden Bear is what you listed, but with amaretto rather than champagne. I don’t remember any carbonation in the drink. Whatever it is, it packs a hell of a punch.

We don’t serve minors at this establishment. Keep on trying to get us into trouble and how can we not think you’re a traitor?

We seem to have ourselves a track meet.
