BCS National Championship Game

I’m going with Oklahoma since, believe it or not, they were my preseason pick. Bradford will outshine Tebow tonight.

apparently next year…

It’s a new year and time to pile on the optimism. NCG would be great, but we would settle for the Rose Bowl. BTW where do you rank Clemson football next year:)

carp, can you please describe the pros and cons of each choice?

by BearsNecessity on Jan 8, 2009 5:15 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

T-Bow’s GF
Pros: nice hair, doesn’t overdo it on the makeup. Very top heavy.
Cons: Are those real? Is the L Boob bigger than the R Boob?

McCoy’s GF
Pros: tall, lean, slender, athletic build. Goes to Baylor so she’s smart. Nice friends.
Cons: Friend is hotter. Why date a QB who doesn’t go to your school? She’s too tall.

Bradford’s GF:
Pros: I like blondes.
Cons: Dye job honey!

Am I the only one that thinks Colt’s gf is just a cookie cutter white chick? You know I love volleyball players, but I don’t think she’s that special. Tebow’s gf has fake features which is a big no-no for me.

I vote for option #4…. the random hot girls they hook up with on road games. You cannot deny my logic!

My pick for SI cheerleader of the week… blows away the above three.

Big 12 in general has been looking kind of exposed in their bowl games.

Of course now that I’ve said that, Oklahoma is gonna win.

Hey nice to see Belichick and Kraft here

Maybe they’re petitioning for the Pats to join college football so their 18-1 team can win a national championship.

There's a rule that needs to be changed

I think the player needs to break the plane AND maintain possession of the ball like on every other play on the field.

Second most annoying band: Oklahoma. They play that same stupid song every play. Agree or disagree?

Agree

I’ve realized in my first year at Cal that our band is FAR superior to almost every other band out there. I say almost every because I haven’t seen every school’s band.

The Texas band was really irritating me during the Fiesta Bowl. I’d put them at 2nd after USC and before Oklahoma. Texas’ band would not stop playing, they weren’t even really making music, their percussion just kept making noise for extended periods of time.

Miami's band did something similar at the Emerald Bowl

But I have to admit I kinda liked it (didn’t have a choice – was seated in the next section over and couldn’t hear a LICK of what the Cal band played)

by LovinBlue on Jan 8, 2009 6:18 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

On a similar note, I hate bands that don’t have their own fight songs. Furd, Texas (They play working on the Railroad or something like that, no?), and Georgia. Georgia plays the frickin Battle Hymn of the Republic, don’t they? Does anyone else see the irony of a Southern school playing that song?

Or else I have my facts wrong, but the general point remains.

Agreed but....

They just need to change the wording… from excessive celebration… to TAUNTING. I don’t mind if you do the river dance… but I think it’s wrong to do it while flipping off the defense.

It’s so much fun to see for the fans… plus it’s so hard to call for the refs… just outlaw TAUNTING… but not celebrating.

One amendment should be the length of celebration… an additional 5 yard delay of game should be called if the celebration demonstration is too long….
