lol wut
didn’t see this coming…not sure how he ranks with othe TE’s, but he certainly had more work to do with blocking. I was shocked to see 6’4’/250…he plays like 6’0/190.
best of luck to him, we have some talented TEs behind him ready to step up with Miller, Smith, and Practice Squad PoY Ladner.

Morrah
Good luck, pal. I think Morrah will go in the fourth round or something, but he definitely isn’t a first day pick.

Let’s also note that “first day” used to mean 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Round but now with the new draft rules it only means the 1st and 2nd round.

this means more Mel Kuiper, Jr swinging his greasy head around talking about how JJ Stokes will be the next Jerry Rice…

That guy does not know what he is talking about. I hate Mel Keiper Jr. I wish Morrah all the luck ath the next level. He was a big tight end. he was a quarterbacks dream in the red zone. Do we have a lot of depth at the TE spot?

Tedford does not agree with Morrah’s decision.
“We work with NFL candidates to educate them on their prospects for the draft as well as the benefits for staying in college,” head coach Jeff Tedford said. “I don’t necessarily agree with the decision, but I am supportive of Cameron and hope that he is successful at the next level.”

Passed... Syd definitely is back
I think Morrah made the right decision for himself (in terms of draft pick)… Next year’s class is loaded with TE talent (if the guys declare).
GOOD LUCK CAM… I HOPE WE SEE YOU IN A NINERS UNIFORM
You ain't got it like Marshawn got it

Completely unexpected
Not that I’m stunned or anything I’m just really surprised.
This is my last game, I don't care about my body.

Surprised guys don't make this decision more often
- He isn’t going to statistically improve on the college level (8 TDs this year)
- He probably won’t physically improve much in the next year
- He likely would have more competition at TE or at least with the receivers next year
- NFL careers are very short
- He can always go back to school and complete his degree if this doesn’t work out
So, this makes a lot of sense. Shame to see him leave, but I don’t really think it is going to impact things too much for us.
The opposite side is a guy like DeVon Hardin, who left hundreds of thousands on the table to return and now has a one year shorter career to make up the difference.

I think with Devon Hardin
The thought was that he would improve on some aspects of his game by returning… too bad Monty didn’t come one year early cuz I’m sure his senior year would have been totally different.

Wow, this was so unexpected. I was surprised to see it make the front page of ESPN’s NFL page. I wish him the best of luck, but wish he would have stayed. Oh well. Time for the other TE’s to step up. Yet, unless we can finally get a decent QB, it shouldn’t matter at all. My goodness, may we please get a reliable QB next season. Be that Brock or Kevin, I don’t care. I just want average play. Am I being unreasonable?

Here is Morrah’s press statement:
I would like to thank Coach Tedford, Coach Michalczik and Coach Alamar for giving me the opportunity to come to Cal. In the past four years, I have enjoyed my time at Cal, and it has meant so much for me to attend such a great institution. To have the opportunity to experience the learning environment that Cal offers educationally and athletically is something I will take with me for the rest of my life. I realize the importance of earning a Cal degree and I will make it a priority to complete the 14 units that I have left.
I would also like to thank the whole coaching and academic staffs for helping me develop as a student-athlete. Coming out of high school, it was important for me to attend a college that ran a pro-style offense that would help me prepare for the next level, and Coach Tedford’s offense has been a perfect fit for me.
The decision to leave Cal has been a hard one for me. I have spent time going over it with Coach Tedford, my family, and praying about it. My Grandma’s recent illness played a role in my decision to leave because she means so much to me and my family. She has seen me play at every level and it is important for me to try to give her the opportunity to see me play at the next level. With that said, I would not have made this decision to leave if I did not believe I was ready to be successful in the NFL.
Once again, I would just like to thank everyone in the Cal family for their support over the past four years, and I am looking forward to making them proud in my future endeavors. Go Bears!

Oh yeah, I forgot to include Coach Michalczik as another factor for TE Craig Stevens and Cameron Morrah’s success. While Coach Alamar is the TEs coach, during practices the TEs also practice with the OL on pass protection schemes and technique. So while Alamar is partly responsible for Stevens and Morrah going to the NFL, so is Coach Michalczik.
