Cal v. WSU 9.6.08 2nd Quarter Thread
Cal up 21-3 at the end of the first half. Stunning start to the game. Cal's O has cooled a bit and the Cal D is not softening slightly. This was the 2006 score. We have 3 quarters to go. Let's not get cocky here. Go Bears!

Has anyone been by the stadium recently?
There is a huge pile of wood chippings, I wanted to go climb and roll around in it and freeze it so we could skate on it in the winter and melt it in the spring time and drink it!!!!
Awesome
the hike up to the stadium will be much clearer.

We all are starting to wonder
if maybe there was something to this whole Alex Brink starting ahead of Rogers for four years thing.
holy shit fool that is amazing!
the kicker kicked it into his own teammate!
In other words, Go Bears!
I live in Berkeley.
Weird is good with me. especially if we happen to be winning 28-3.
Go Bears!

careful woofing there
I loved the coug bball teams from the last couple years, but losing weaver, cowgill, and lowe isn’t going to make things easy. we have backcourt talent and a good coach. and let’s NOT forget, we won in pullman last year with braun.
www.californiagoldenblogs.com
Oh, trust me
I have not forgotten. I just know that we’re still going to be good. Klay Thompson is the real deal, and Rochestie is better than most people give him credit for. It’s going to be a fun Pac-10 year — lots of parity, I think. Much more than this past year, where it was pretty predictable, for the most part.
Best thing about the Follet play was the class he showed in the end zone.
Celebrated with the team but no showboating. Was great to see that kind of leadership.
Go Sox!
Man I hate watching this online, anyone know offhand which away games we play that are for sure going to be on a major network?
I have a bat mitzvah to go to at 10:00 in berkeley.
so I’ll wake up at 8:15, get dressed, watch some gameday, watch the first quarter, and then leave.
Go Bears!

I don't know but
the comcast sports package for $7 (I think) is worth it for the Cal games

good to see they've got riley going deep, but
he is overthrowing a bit today. he’ll tighten it up though
What is the Angler injury?
This is the first time I’ve seen him and am still waiting for the 50+ yard punts.
Go Sox!
I thought he didn't sprain it.
that’s why he’s playing today, right? the MRI was negative.
Go Bears!

Maybe strained?
I don’t know how the degrees of injury go. I’m pretty sure it hurt though
BTW, here si the CougCenter open thread.

Besides that big run, what else has Best done?

No, I didnt mean it like that. I meant what are his numbers. I see how that came out wrong!

I think they showed a graphic just now...
11 carries for 101, TD
So ...
Perhaps the teams who play Cal just LOOK like bad tacklers because Best and Vereen are really good?
THAT IS WHY RILEY IS PLAYING.
TOUCHDOWN!
Go Bears!

No more Riley or Best or anybody at risk of injury
From what I’ve seen, Wazzu isn’t trying very hard anymore – there’s nothing else to be had from this game but to give time to scrubs and avoid injury.
we need to get rid of those stripes on the pants
Really don’t like that look on the white jerseys.
Go Sox!
My problem is that the stripe in the back starts from the waist and comes out of nowhere.
It just doesn’t flow.
Go Sox!
Longshore coulda done that!

yeah, but i was referring to
him connecting with Javid, I’m still happy.

agreed.
it’s nice to see jahvid as a receiver and not in the backfield

OMG PUT IN NATE
We’re blowin’ it. We need the predictability of Nate to get through this game with the W.

we can’t exactly run the ball with out backup.

Anyone noticed how much Riley's passes have been sailing today?
I think he’s a little nervous playing in his first Pac-10 road game.
in that case
im glad we’re playing wazzu and not Arizona in our first road game. this way riley gets pac-ten experience without being pressured that much. and we win 100-3!
Go Bears!

If I was Tedford, I might put Riley in in the second half, to help him get some flow back.
"Save The Oaks: Overthrow Capitalism" said Dumpster Muffin sanguinely

Yeah he can handoff the ball 15 times in a row
That’d be some great flow.

thus far, Riley has looked better running the ball than passing the ball.
