Fantastic!
Time for Vereen to have a 2006 Forsett-style game against ASU!

Whew!
Now the question is… do we put Shane on kickoffs? I’m thinking we’ll need his moves on special teams to beat ASU…. I do have faith in Hagan during kickoffs, but am not sure if he’ll be as productive.

It’s great he won’t require surgery, but I’m not so optimistic he’ll be back on Oct. 18, let alone at full strength.

One thing we do know… we’re all going to start reading JO’s practice reports religiously.

He did heal apparently very quickly from the hip necrosis. Maybe he is a fast healer.
All I know is that we gotta get him some of Hayden Pannietierre’s blood. And fast!

Disagree
Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) would be much better for the transfusion That plus field passes for Hayden and I think everything comes up roses.

So question for Danzig
who has hyperextended his elbow twice… when they say it will be (hopefully) healed in two weeks or so, does that mean he’ll have full 100% strength? Meaning that he can apply all six points or pressure to the ball and adequately protect it from being stripped? Or in two weeks should we expect him to have 75% strength? Or less?

My analysis of Jahvid's recovery
First it heals real fast because you’re not putting any weight on it like your knees. In fact don’t be surprised to see him dress for ASU… there’s no cast or anything… I was given a neoprene elbow brace and some painkillers… that’s it. Plus the amount of muscle attached to the joint relative to the amount of stress on it makes it an injury you can play with.
However, you cannot hold the ball hard to your body without it feeling weak. Mine made clicking noises whenever I would bend my arm, but that’s neither here nor there. Anyway, you cannot get full strength on the ball…. not b/c of your hand, your hand is fine… and not b/c of the pain…. but the joint just doesnt feel like it would support squeezing the ball to your body. It feels weak… I remember not being able to do a pull-up or a dip for some time. I think getting stripped will be a big issue especially since Zona will know this and try to strip it every chance they get.
Getting hit won’t be a problem because the pain goes away after a few days… he just needs to use the other arm to hold the ball. But he certainly won’t be able to stiff arm or land on the hurt arm… plus balls thrown above his head will not be caught b/c you can’t extend your arm fully without it hurting…. so on the passes, Kevin better hit him on the numbers.
The biggest downside is once you suffer this injury, it’s so easy for it to happen again… my initial injury happened very fast during a live practice match… I had to go to the hospital… the second time i hardly put any pressure on my arm and it buckled due to the angle…
As for jerking it… I was ok since I’m a righty…. if I was a lefty, that would’ve sucked.

For his analysis of the financial crisis and for a medical evaluation of Jahvid via internet, danzig clearly earns CGB MVP for today.

Yeah, I just read all of his analysis on the financial crisis. Bravo! For a minute I thought I was reading the WSJ. Damn guy is a genius! I love that guy, Danzig.
Though, while this quote was probably on everyone’s mind, I have to give him props for actually posting it! HA HA…

Hmmm....
You’ve caught me drunk at an early hour Twist. I don’t know whether to take your comments as a compliment or an insult. Damnit! So, good job, you have stumped me, Twist. I know deep down, inside your fire burning heart, you hate me, but why? What have I ever done to you besides heap praise upon thee? I love you Twist, please don’t hate me…

Not really...
The dow lost 778 points today. Our financing system as we know it is dead. I was hoping to buy a house soon but now that will never happen. I would argue that whoever isn’t drunk needs help.

I have apparently never NOT needed help.
Look, I get it. You need a blanket to help you against the random insanity that is this world. Instead of alcohol, I offer a different type of crutch. I offer you religion. A relationship. A relationship to a man who came and died for our sins and was reborn. A man who my ancestors killed.
I offer you Marshawn. He shall lead you to happiness!

Hmm....
I was looking into that religion, though given the religions recent stats I have been reticent to convert…
VS Jacksonville: 19 carries, 59 yards.
VS Oakland: 23 carries, 83 yards.
VS St. Louis: 19 carries 53 yards.
Still, Marshawn is special, I may just yet see the light…

I wouldn't say that was the "Best" injury statement I've ever seen.
How does one get in the running for good/better/best anyway?

Well, the way it’s crafted. Succint, yet powerful. It’s almost as if Ahmad Jamal composed it. And we all know how much Miles Davis LOVED Ahmad Jamal.
Now, if John Coltrane had composed this, it’d be 40 pages long and not make sense to ANYBODY.
