Cal v. Colorado State 9.27.08 Third Kwarter Thread

Since it is unclear whether any CGB Marshawnthusiast will be at a computer for the game today, we've decided to put up all these threads ahead of time.  Pregame Thread.  First KwarterSecond Kwarter.

The band is off the field, the team has come back on.  Let's get ready for the second half.  Use this one to discuss all the game's third kwarter action.

If you missed anything this week, don't forget to check out our discussion of interesting rules, including Ragnarok's favs.  We also discussed the national football rankings and the Pac10 football rankings.  And regarding today's opponent, CSU, we had a Q+A with another blog, looked at some game film, and took a shallow look at their O and D

So, comment away!

Rehire Tom Holmoe!

I think that guy at Top Dog with the long hair who has been there for at least 16 years may be moving on soon. Who will make my bockwurst when he’s gone? Holmoe.

Your ideas are hereby declared awesome.

good thing the D is still fine

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

by yellow fever on Sep 27, 2008 5:07 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

that because

any mention of top dog to cal alums = awesome.

Anyone want to explain to Syd how his nickname was concieved?… hahaa

by danzig on Sep 27, 2008 5:13 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'd say it already cost us the Maryland game

Though it wasn’t the only reason…some of those kickoffs were embarassing.

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

I didn’t even think to try it. Thanks for the head’s up.

Riley is changing the play a lot...

Interesting. Anyone notice he’s getting a beer belly?

by Troatie on Sep 27, 2008 5:17 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

hyperextended elbow... whew... eblow is not a big deal...

I’ve hyperextened my elbow twice… just as long as you don’t tear tendons it’s not that bad and even if you do you still have a wide range of mobility with it (trust me).

thank god it wasn’t the knee. !!!!

by danzig on Sep 27, 2008 5:19 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

We’re kind of up by 28. And it’s not like they’re running the ball anymore.

by BearsNecessity on Sep 27, 2008 5:23 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well if we have learned anything from last year, we still need to put pressure on the quarterback otherwise they’ll comeback on us. We should only roll out the prevent defense in the 4th… we need a convincing win here… keep the spread wide.

I think the pass rush has been fairly strong the entire season. Even at Maryland.

...or the other way around

regardless… they have a rapport…

Nate’s footwork is looking very good.

by danzig on Sep 27, 2008 5:27 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I don't know

Riley and the receivers still need a lot of work getting on the same page, and we’ve got a pretty big conference game next week.

One theory

Tedford got scared with the Best injury and wanted to put in the scrubs, a.k.a. what Tressel should’ve done.

by Nashville on Sep 27, 2008 5:30 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Morrah dropped one

Won’t see that often

by Troatie on Sep 27, 2008 5:27 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Cameron's fault...

was a bit behind, but was drop. Nate is looking unusually fast… and he’s lost his injury weight.

by danzig on Sep 27, 2008 5:28 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

All blue uniforms look good.

Alabama is now winning 17-0. 11:58 in Q2.

by Nashville on Sep 27, 2008 5:30 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

So, might be too early to say anything...

But looks like this weekend the 1, 3, and 4 teams will have lost.

Alabama 24-0

by Nashville on Sep 27, 2008 5:41 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Decent dink and dunk drive. I think Tedford just wants to avoid injuries and get ready for CSU.

cool… good to finally see him.

Quick Stat Check

Good thing or bad thing that we only have one offensive TD?

by Nashville on Sep 27, 2008 5:36 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

If only we were in the SEC

Great defense and special teams pencils in eight wins.

by BearsNecessity on Sep 27, 2008 5:37 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Right

That plus Sun Belt opponents…

by Nashville on Sep 27, 2008 5:38 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Just curious...

but does that mean that if you coach at The ‘U,’ you can add ‘The’ to your name?

The Erickson…

or the Coker?

by Nashville on Sep 27, 2008 5:47 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

because...

…I think we all know where that one would head

by Nashville on Sep 27, 2008 5:48 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

bad

Best has a 100 yards, but offense is really not looking fantastic. The really got one from the refs that gave them the TD on offense

by Troatie on Sep 27, 2008 5:38 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

W.R.T. the running game

DOES NATE LOOK FASTER??

or is it just the streaming feed that makes him look faster.

by danzig on Sep 27, 2008 5:38 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I’m totally confused. I’ve never seen him rollout. Ever.

I think Kevin starting has made him grow his skill set… perhaps even re-define his style. Let’s see how he looks in the 4th… but I have a suspicion that Kevin is coming back out in the 4th… Coach is just getting Nate reps me thinks.

by danzig on Sep 27, 2008 5:43 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Kevin? No.

Probably Brock. Hydro’s going to faint in the stadium.

hahahahahaha

I was hoping they’d put in Mansion. I prayed and pleaded with God but to no avail.
