Fantasy Week in Review - Week 4
Javon Ringer is my favorite fantasy college football RB ever!

Ever being limited to the last four weeks, of course. I can only imagine how awesome Garrett Wolfe was a few years ago. And man, it's like some of you guys aren't even trying anymore. Maybe we need to offer some prizes next year. Something like a t-shirt that reads "I Beat the CGB And All I Got Was This T-Shirt With Yellow Fever's Favorite DeSean Jackson Pictures On It". (Get on it, zoonews!)
Things are also looking slightly up in the Pick'Em league.

Who is this Josh in Portland character? Reveal yourself! At least I'm putting some distance between myself and the Fighting Mahargs.

The Fighting Mahargs never stood a chance!
I'm no The Maharg! But I try. Oh, how I try!

Mostly because they lack legs to stand with.
It’s times like this I wish they’d never discovered CougCenterium.
I just don’t understand why it wouldn’t be The Fighting The Mahargs? Get it right, The Maharg!

Because I am The Maharg, but my team is run by the clan Maharg, or the fighting Mahargs as it were.
It’s times like this I wish they’d never discovered CougCenterium.
I would just like to say that in the Pick Em league, I’m only 13 points off the leader. Had I actually played in the 1st week, I would probably be #1.

Just my luck, this week I play Avi in the fantasy league. Which means even if I score 150 points, I’m still going to lose by at least 100. Goddam Graham Harrell.

Yeah
Game of the week everyone. PLACE YOUR BETS.
Bears Necessity -10.5 vs Hydrotech

I'm screwed though
I’m starting a freshman QB. I lost my starting TE for the season (Blaine Irby knee injury). My top WR Mike Thomas is on bye. I’m going to get destroyed.

My receiving corps
Beckum (totally overrated so far), Heyward-Bey (good, but draws Clemson), Morales (great sleeper, but he’s got the Toejams this week) and A.J. Green (best secondary in the league). They might not crack 10 points this week. Combined.

Decisions decisions....
Start Iowa’s defense versus NW? Or Bama defense versus Georgia….? Hmm….

This decision is the difference between losing by 30 or 40. Very critical decision.

I’m starting Riley freaking Skinner. This is your best chance to own me.

NOBODY gets to complain about bad luck besides me
I have the 4th most points in a 10 team league. I’m 0-4. End of discussion.

You know who isn't in the picture?
TwistNHook. But is that surprising? Say no.

excuses excuses
Look, we all know if you did, you wouldn’t be in the top 25.

Here's something that pisses me off
I made the right picks and yet it didn’t give me the point for it. Take a look at my stats last week:
Incorrect, OHSt 28, Troy 10
WTF I picked OSU and OSU won.
Incorrect, Mo 42, Buf 21
Eh? I picked Missouri not Buffalo!
Incorrect, Utah 30, AFA 23
What!? I picked Utah not AFA. Incredibly CBKWit picked AFA and got the point!
If you look at the group picks it shows that Buffalo, AFA, Troy, Kansas and Toledo were the winning picks even though they didn’t win the game!
Am I missing something here?
In other words, Go Bears!
Well, you make your picks based on the spread. So while you picked OSU to win, they have to win and cover the spread. I guess they didn’t.
You picked Missou, they won, but didn’t cover I think.
And you picked Utah, they won too, but I don’t think they covered.

I’ve done this before. When I figured this out it sucked. It’s unbelievably stupid that Yahoo NFL Pick’em doesn’t go the same way.

CBKWit and YellowFever also face off this week in the fantasy league
That’s a good game too. Both rosters are loaded with top talent. I think CBKWit wins though…

that dreamy chase daniel is on a bye
And I briefly thought about picking up Rudy Carpenter or Willie Tuitama…before realizing they were on byes too. Sportsline has the worst god damn layout ever. I’ll have to go with Juice Williams against Penn State’s D.
I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

I am
Josh
I live in Portland
I read the blog regularly, but rarely (if ever) comment
I’m old (graduated from Cal in ‘89)
It’s a dream come true to spend one week atop the college pick ‘em standings even if HydroTech is smarter than me and will surely pass me by the end of the season (maybe even this week)
I want the t-shirt
If I’m still winning at the end of the season, can I have the t-shirt?
Really, I want it
Go Bears!

I'm not smarter than you. Right now you're smarter than everyone else.
There’s no way I’m catching up to you or anyone else in the top 5 unless I pick at greater than a 75% rate for a few weeks. I’ve been picking at about 66% which is good but it certainly won’t guarantee I’ll catch up.
As for your shirt (assuming you win), I think we do have some prizes. Don’t take my word for it though. I’m not in charge of that but I think we actually might have something in store for the winner.

You picked 7/18 the week before last
So I’m not so sure I want your help….

That was a fluke!
Ok, picking ucla to cover at BYU wasn’t my finest moment.
