Bay Area Folks let's go cheer on Kyle Reed agains the Furds

San Jose State plays Stanfurd this Saturday at 6PM in Palo Alto. There is a chance for an upset here and ex-Cal player Kyle Reed will start for SJSU. There is talk among the Bear Insider boards that a decent sized Cal contigent might be present at the game wearing blue and gold and since their colors are not that far off from ours it'll work well:

I will be in San Jose this weekend so I may end up going. Is anyone else thinking of doing the same?

BTW tickets here (opens new window).

I might

Anyone in Berkeley feel like giving me a ride? I live in San Mateo, maybe we could stop by my house and get food on the way…

but but but....

Going to Stanfurd when I don’t have to… I dunno about that… and I had all sorts of ‘sitting around’ plans…

Even if I could

I’m not hot on the idea of paying to watch Stanford play unless it’s against Cal.

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

Then attend the game for FREE

You can buy 2008 Stanford season tickets, use them, and then return them for a full refund. As long as you return the tickets prior to the USC game on Nov. 15, you can go to tomorrow’s game (and every other home game until USC) and still get a full refund.

Only the ‘furd would pull something like this. I’m not making it up [opens in new window].

“Wait,” you might be thinking. “Doesn’t that mean I could buy Stanford season tickets, go root for Riley tomorrow, sell the Arizona (Homecoming) and Washington St. tickets for a few bucks each, and then return them with zero risk? I could be a thorn in their side and make money off of their athletic department for free?”

Yes. Yes you can.

too good to be true?

From the Web page:
3. Refund must be requested prior to the USC game on Nov. 15 and ticket must be physically turned into ticket office by Nov. 5, 2008.

does that mean you only have to return the tickets for games on and after the USC game?

Kyle Reed has been very impressive this year. Final score might not show it, but the Spartans had plenty of chances on offense to undo Nebraska in Lincoln but were undone by some turnovers and special teams. Looks a lot like a Rodgers in ’03 year if you ask me.

If there weren’t so many other games on TV this weekend, like if the furd/sjst game was on a friday or thursday and I didn’t have tons of work to do, I might go…

Sadly, I’ve been informed by the Cal Blogosphere High Command that you’ve been assigned to take photos of the game. If at all possible we’d like you to interview a Stanford fan and discuss what it means not to have a soul. Regards.

plus I hate driving near the Palo Alto campus.

I had an internship for 2 years near Palo Alto and I don’t want to go on 101 and take University exit one more time…

In other words, Go Bears!

Damn, I would love to do that if I were free!

I wish I were.

I love cheering against Stanfurd. Love it.

I haven't seen that many tear-stained dollar bills since my dad hired a stripper for my uncle's funeral.
