For what feels like the seventieth year in a row, Fresno State enters the season overhyped. Amazing what getting close to USC in one game will do for your preseason status. Well, they’re taking on Rutgers, a school which excites no one, yet they seem to always win eight games in the torrid Big East. Should be good.
I have absolutely zero feel for how that Tennessee-UCLA match up will play out. I think in order for the Bruins to have a shot they are gonna have to score some points either on special teams or defense. Vols are favored by 7…
Tennessee fans are terribly confident like last year.
Interesting with Ainge gone. The Vols are loaded at the skills positions though, so the Bruins D will have their hands full.

I am REALLY glad we don’t have to play Fresno State, hype or no.
LOL @ Wisconsin having to play IN FRESNO next week. Hahaha they tried so hard to get out of that one…
And fUCLA is going to get wrecked. Wrecked.
Sucks for Wisconsin. They have nothing really to gain from that game. If they win, then they will simply be meeting what is expected from them. But if they lose, it will really hurt their image.
Wisconsin’s final game of the season is against San Luis Obispo. Yes, THAT San Luis Obispo. They have so many chances this year to get embarrassed.

Stupidest strategy ever.
3rd and goal at the 4 RUN UP MIDDLE STUFF!
4th and goal at the 3 RUN UP MIDDLE STUFF!
What a grand strategy.
…and Rutgers responds with a terrible trick play. way to give it back, guys.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
Watching Greg Schiano vs. Pat Hill try to outsmart the other would be like watching girls from The Hills try to beat each other at Go.

Aaand another fail for the Suckgers
This is what, their 20th play in Fresno territory? Still scoreless?
i would like to say that it's good defense
i really would like to be able to say that. i really would.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
Yeah, it's good defense
By Rutgers. Great job breaking up the plays to themselves.

Man, what a thriller
Rutgers keeps on getting position at the 40 and proceeds to do nothing with it.
This'll end with a missed field goal
On 3rd down.

Totally BS PI call
But I guess you need to start doing things like this when you’re playing like crap.

well, to be fair, everyone thinks it’s amazing when David Beckham bends the ball like that…
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
He should kick the ball from out of bounds.

espn ticker reports that the ravens just signed Joey Harrington
i don’t know if Harrington and Kyle Boller know each other, but that’s quite the collection of Tedford protegés there…
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
All they need is Akili Smith to be the waterboy.

Is there any reason
why he wouldn’t want to Hail Mary it? I am actually perplexed at that last play.
Pat Hill is a genius though. Haven’t you heard?

0-0 at halftime.
200 yards of total offense for Rutgers to 79 for Fresblow. Scoreless at halftime. Don’t you love college football?
Aha
The green “V” worn on the back of the football players’ helmets (and also on the front of the basketball uniforms along the neckline) honors the agricultural industry of the San Joaquin Valley, and the importance it plays in financially supporting Fresno State (as well as the university’s contributions to the area economy).
So, the V stands for “San Joaquin”. Or “agriculture”.
More ESPN Schiano pimping
You’d think this dude is the patron saint of football the way they talk about him.
The genius of Pat HIll pushed it through.

man, are you bitter, or what? did pat hill and greg schiano run over your dog or something?
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
Nah, ESPN has been overhyping Hill and Schiano for years. I’ve watched too many Rutgers games where Schiano is considered a genius for resurrecting a New Jersey program.
Also, Hill at Fresno always seems to have his “best team” every year, according to the pundits. I find it highly amusing when they fall short of expectations, again.

Blood might be spilled in this half.
I’m really in the mood for more questionable coaching, since we know there’ll be none this evening. Triple reverse!

Pat Hill's coaching advice to Brandstater at the half:
“When you air it out, throw it towards the crowd.”
because the kicker is so awful, and it's too close to punt.
Plus, a chance to get some momentum in theory.
Those penalties were so funny with their total blatany
They were like, “Yeah, this is a block in the back, but what the hell, BAM!”

there were two? i’m studying right now and only turning on the tv when i see something on gamecast that’s interesting or when you guys say something so i didn’t see it live. i saw a highlight right before commercial and it didn’t look like a block to the back to me. it appeared as if there was only one block. but perhaps there was a 2nd i didn’t see.

There were two. The first one was debatable. The second one was pain.

Do they take out a ruler and measure it? That is NOT four inches.

i love how they overturned it, but
not until after the announcers had emphasized 12 times that there was no way it would be called back
He’s going back to the phone to get another brilliant play from some kid that is good at NCAA ’09 on his xbox
If you watch closely, sometimes you’ll see the players pee during the game out on the field.

Just finished downloading MSU game
I think everyone else did too. There are like 20 seeds, hop on and grab it!
Yeah, it just finished. I’m showing 67 seeds. There were more but some people hopped off right when it completed (I saw the seed numbers go down).

well, it’s a decent road win, whatever the score. they’re still in it, i guess.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
Not by much. Rutgers really screwed themselves out of 17 points in the first half. No way they should have fallen behind by this much.

i think UCLA fights and keeps it close
but i don’t think they have any realistic chance to win. i look forward to being surprised.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
not yet, just wait until the 2nd quarter
Too bad the int-machine/law firm MacLeod Bethel-Thompson still isn’t around.
“California cheese is better than Wisconsin cheese”
If that doesn’t get Wisconsin riled up for the FSU game, nothing will.
Wisconsin’s too busy getting set for their epic confrontation with Cal Poly in the season finale. They have no idea what’s going to happen there.

thoughts on starting a new thread for the new game?
or is this one still good?
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
It’ll probably fill up since it’s in primetime.
