YouTube Thursday - Mascot Off! It's a Mascot Off!
Look, I could write something hilariously witty that would cause you to lose your job, because you laughed so loud. But why waste your time and get you fired, let's get to the Mascot Off!!!!
Let's start with the classic, of course. Oski v. The Tree (and an updated version):

This one is fictional, but we had to put it in.
And again, but this time, sped up!
Go Cougar (Note: Houston, not Wazzu):
What are these? They totally lack context. And some have loud sounds so watch your volume:
Damn, Steve ColbEagle got dominated!
That's some goooooooooooooooooooooooooooood fighting! GO BEARS!

That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Oski beats that shrub like a man!

Mark Bingham
Mark Bingham was a Cal rugby player. He lost his life on Flight 93 in the September 11 attacks, probably leading the rush to the cabin to take back the plane. There are no cooler Bears than Mark Bingham.
Anyways, he was even cooler than that. In a pre-Tedford game, Stanfurd was spanking us and the Tree was taunting us.
The Tree ventured closer and closer to the Cal student section, gyrating in its insipid outfit, until a Cal rugby player named Mark Bingham could stand it no longer. Bingham jumped from the stands, made a beeline for the Plant from Purgatory and chopped its sorry ass to the ground, reminding everyone in attendance that there are some things that simply can’t be tolerated.

Dare to Dream
In case no one knew, the California Alumni Association gives out a Mark Bingham award every year. From their website:
Mark Bingham Award for Excellence in Achievement by a Young Alumnus/a – presented since 2005The Mark Bingham Award honors a younger alumnus/a (1-20 years out of school) who has compiled accomplishments of significant import at an early stage of his or her career. The award pays tribute to Mark Bingham ‘93, who died September 11, 2001 defending the United States on United Airlines Flight 93. The first recipient was Wayne Lee ‘91, the NASA engineer who led the team that flew and landed the robotic rovers Spirit and Opportunity on Mars in January 2004. The 2006 award recipient is Assemblywoman Nicole Parra ‘92 (D-Hanford), the only woman at the state or federal level representing California’s lower Central Valley.
Maybe one day YOU could be as great as him. Probably not you, Twist, but someone!

What about the fact that I’m a NASA engineer who led the team that flew and landed the robotic rovers Spirit and Opportunity on Mars in January 2004. Do you think that might snag one of these awards?
If not, what about the fact that I’m the only woman at the state or federal level representing California’s lower Central Valley?

Or maybe the fact that he spends more time online than anyone else in the world. Hell, everyone else in the world combined.
I kissed Dumpster Muffin and I liked it. The taste of her hippie chapped lips.
