let's get this party started

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

y'know

I don’t think that KGAM810 stream is going to work anyway. Two years ago I subscribed through the Bears’ official website and had to pay 10 bucks a month for radio streams. I don’t think they’re going to give them away for free.

What to look for: Spartan O-line protecting the QB

The second quarter will be key for the Spartans; they really struggled all last season with consistency. The O-line especially had trouble protecting the QB as halves wore on.

by BearsNecessity on Aug 30, 2008 6:06 PM PDT reply actions

Okay, two fallaway passes by Hoyer get completed, but still good pressure on the quarterback.

by BearsNecessity on Aug 30, 2008 6:07 PM PDT up reply actions

stop it!!!

I’m reading comments and listining, and the comments are faster than the damn radio feed. So I keep reading what happens before it happens.

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 6:09 PM PDT up reply actions

hahhaa.. sorry dude, I’ll try to subdue it, but frankly, this is what the thread is for. I’ll try tho.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:10 PM PDT up reply actions

Ohh... ABC is in the 21st century now!

They made a google joke!

Cal’s D is looking solid so far.

Go Duckies!

I bet you the TD will be confirmed… that’s the way the replay people roll when they do our games.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:13 PM PDT up reply actions

don't tease me.

I just heard Starkey say, "he overthrows everyon…..oh it’s a touchdown. Not you Hombre, not you too.

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 6:13 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, bobbled and hit the ground.

by BearsNecessity on Aug 30, 2008 6:13 PM PDT reply actions

the best part about this is

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, and Yahoo doesn’t update Gamecast until plays are official. So for instance, last year, I had no idea WTF was going on when Ezeff made Colvin fumble last year. I just thought Yahoo was broken because it didn’t update for ten minutes.

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

Longshore

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 6:17 PM PDT reply actions

Longshore looks crisp.

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:18 PM PDT reply actions

Everybody chill now.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:19 PM PDT reply actions

That hurts. Nate was looking really good.

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:19 PM PDT reply actions

I din't see it

But starkey seems to think it’s old hat

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 6:21 PM PDT up reply actions

Agreed. I thought Nate looked good and motivated. I think starting Riley might have been the best for Nate.

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:21 PM PDT up reply actions

I agree… that was a designed look off… so he didn’t have time to check for the closing DB.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:21 PM PDT up reply actions

Seems like the play calling was different for Kevin and Nate.

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:22 PM PDT up reply actions

The big question

Does Tedford go right back to Riley or does Nate get another chance on the next series?

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:20 PM PDT reply actions

Tedford’s history tells us that he’ll let Nate work it out of his system… we’re up, so I think Nate is coming back in.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:22 PM PDT up reply actions

I vote Riley...

man

I go to another computer to try and get the radio feed to work, and apparently I missed the season debut of my main man. Sounds like it’s the same s%$t, different day.

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

by yellow fever on Aug 30, 2008 6:22 PM PDT reply actions

if you have itunes

click the link below the “play now” button and listen to it as a podcast. How can you have a blog and not know how to use a computer?

He went to Cal.

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:24 PM PDT up reply actions

got it

It was the computer I was working with – I was trying to use my company-issued computer. Bunch of security settings and all that, I presume…works on my mom’s laptop just fine. So I’m now listening to the dulcet tones of Joe Starkey.

no homo

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

by yellow fever on Aug 30, 2008 6:26 PM PDT up reply actions

We’re getting rush off the edge… nice.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:23 PM PDT reply actions

Whew! Nate’s INT doesn’t result in points.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:25 PM PDT reply actions

The D is looking pretty good

they’ve gotten a little lucky with all the penalties, but still a very nice performance.

The A's colors are green and gold.

by mikeA on Aug 30, 2008 6:25 PM PDT reply actions

Michigan State's O-line is big but slow

Cal’s D is athletic enough to get pass them as the game wears on.

by BearsNecessity on Aug 30, 2008 6:26 PM PDT reply actions

I’m seeing a lot of DUI warning adds tonight. Is this a national campaign or is it just a San Diego thing? And yes, people get a lot of DUIs here.

uhhhh

Oh my god… accurate.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:33 PM PDT reply actions

Wait, am I watching a Cal game? The calls are going our way. Amazing.

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:34 PM PDT reply actions

Best might have trouble running through the middle,

but there’ll be a ton of short pass plays like that this year.

The A's colors are green and gold.

by mikeA on Aug 30, 2008 6:34 PM PDT reply actions

We’re still getting pressure around the edge… nice.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:39 PM PDT reply actions

Huh?

Mohamed didn’t do jack!

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:42 PM PDT reply actions

Thompson! Who else?

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:45 PM PDT reply actions

I’m by no means a Longshore fan but let’s go easy on the guy. The quarterback debate is over and he’s a good kid.

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:49 PM PDT up reply actions

You’re right… wow, you’re starting to sound like me.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 6:49 PM PDT up reply actions

as long as you're right

and the debate is over. I didn’t care who started, as long as the guy who started was better. But this game could possibly be 24-0 if it weren’t for Nate, and, at least listening to the call, that isn’t acceptable. I don’t want to drag the poor guy down, but unless he shows something else, he has to sit.

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 6:58 PM PDT up reply actions

Did I just see Allison Stokke in a Cal promo commercial?

by The Hombre on Aug 30, 2008 6:56 PM PDT reply actions

Do you realize our WRs have NOT been involved in our offense?

…………………catches… yards… percatch…
S. Young – 2 – 26 – 13.0
 L. Cunningham – 1 – 7 – 7.0

that’s it… Morrah has been involved tho.

C. Morrah – 3 – 63 – 21.0… and one of the catches was for 50

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 7:01 PM PDT reply actions

Calvin has not seen the field… no Nyan either.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 7:02 PM PDT up reply actions

nyan was in for a few plays

early in the 2nd quarter, but he didn’t hav a ball thrown his way.

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 7:04 PM PDT up reply actions

Thanks… didn’t see that.

by danzig on Aug 30, 2008 7:04 PM PDT up reply actions

halftime stats

Almost equal. Cal holds a 217-150 yard advantage, but are down 2 turnovers to none. Not so encouraging

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 7:02 PM PDT reply actions

check that

turnovers are 2-1…I was looking at an unupdated site

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 7:03 PM PDT up reply actions

What do you think?

Will Cal sneak into the top 25 if they win this game? I think thye need to win by more than ten, but they have a good chance.

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 7:08 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah

ACC teams are tumbling out today. Cal was in the top 30 or so if I recall.

I wouldn’t mind staying out another week though. Not in a hurry to get in there.

by BearsNecessity on Aug 30, 2008 7:09 PM PDT up reply actions

they were #28

in the AP powl and three teams between 17 and 25 lost, which is why I bring it up. And I am in a hurry to get them back there, with no local media to cover them. I need them to be featured.

by Moscow Doug on Aug 30, 2008 7:12 PM PDT up reply actions

hmm

Why aren’t any of the backup RBs getting any touches? Not that Best hasn’t been doing a great job, but maybe Best could use a breather every now and then.

I'm still wondering why the Nets didn't draft Leon Powe.

My how Longshore has fallen...

It wasn’t that long ago he was being talked up as NFL material and folks were worried he was going to go on the church mission. Now that he’s not going on a mission and got married, maybe… that’s karma. :-)
