Analyzing statistics, looking at mechanics and efficiency ratings etc. is interesting. However, football is a game that is played on adrenaline and emotional waves. In the middle of a game it is the team that does not believe the QB can and will make it happen - who gives the game away.
All it takes is a few momentary second guessing. You can watch the body language of Longshore when he starts feeling beaten and it deflates the whole teams adrenaline and then that other team takes over.
Longshore is good, but Riley is a leader with confidence like Rogers had. That’s what Cal needs to get past the shouldya, wouldya, couldya I’ve been watching since 1980.
