Around SBN: MLB Trade Deadline: Astros' fans react to Oswalt trade

My Dog in that fight.

The Fresno State Bulldogs, Jeff Tedford's alma mater, absolutely worked the University of Georgia Bulldogs tonight, 19-10 in the all Bulldog final of the College World Series to even the series at 1-1. The final game will be on Wednesday night at 6:00 pm central on ESPN.

Yes, a happy Tedford is important for when he finally starts Riley and benches Longshore. Ok, I'll admit that half of the reason I wrote that sentence was to get over the 75 word minimum for a fanpost. The other half was Longshore losing the Big Game.

Ite Ursi.

The opinions expressed in a FanPost are, in every way, reflective of the opinions of every California Golden Blogs Marshawnthusiast. Moreover, they are reflective of every employee of SBNation, including Tyler "Blez" Bleszinski.

well, it sounds like if there is any acrimony, it’s between Tedford and Pat Hill specifically, not Tedford and his alma mater generally.

So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!

Still, he played there and he coached there. My guess is that he’s on frosty terms with a couple of people. Hell, there are couple of people at Cal besides a certain Nathan Longshore that if something bad happened to them, I’d probably need the services of a good lawyer.

Also of note: Fresno was the #4 seed (of 4) in the Bears' regional

when the lowest seed in your regional makes the national title game (or series, in this case), that’s pretty solid evidence that you were in some sort of ‘Group of Death’.

btw, Fresno is the lowest seed in any NCAA sport to make the Final Four, let alone the final game. I’ll be rooting for Fresno, if only to further prove how Cal got screwed in seeding.

So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!

Why complain about being “screwed in seeding”? Cal was not playing its best baseball at the end of the year. It didn’t really matter where it was seeded. Cal was unfortunately not playing the level of baseball necessary to make it deep into the tournament, anyway.

understood

still, i tend to subscribe to the theory that if i’m going to lose, i’d like to have lost to the best. sort of helps gloss over the suckiness that led to the loss in the first place…

So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!

The stat I liked was that if Fresno State wins tonight they will have lost the maximum number of games possible to lose and still win the CWS. I guess if they lose tonight, then they will have lost the maximum number of games in any case.

And Fresno State wins it, 6-1.

wow

go dogs, i guess. so the bears beat the eventual national champs twice this year, 14-4 and 5-4.

So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
