6/23 DBD: Leon Powe Power Hour
The Big Zero chats with the WWL here. Notable:
Kevin Garnett (Boston, MA): Did you see my post-game interview with Michelle Tafoya? Even I don't remember it because I had blacked out with emotion and lack of sleep, but you must have gotten a good laugh out of it, right?
Leon Powe: Anything's possible!
I tried asking a question about his thoughts on replacing Braun with Monty, but that didn't make the cut.
Rod Benson interviews Ryan Anderson. I didn't see this get linked before, but it probably has. And if it hasn't, it should have been.
Marshawn will likely avoid jail time. No word on a possible suspension from the league, but it seems likely.
The opinions expressed in a FanPost are, in every way, reflective of the opinions of every California Golden Blogs Marshawnthusiast. Moreover, they are reflective of every employee of SBNation, including Tyler "Blez" Bleszinski.

Quick update on the Court case
Don’t know if any of you saw this . . .
For those of use worried about the whole injunction issue, we’re not the only ones. On June 18, the Attorney for the Oak Foundation filed two letters. The first claims that contractors under the direction of UC were removing large tree limbs and that this was a violation of the injunction. He then asks the Court to “clarify that its January, 2007 preliminary injunction remains in effect” and that counsel be permitted to argue for it to remain in effect, pending appeal if necessary. In the second letter he confirms that City of Berkeley and Panoramic Hill join in his previous request.
All this means is that the Court’s decision was equally unclear to Petitioners and that they are as worried about the injunction as we are. On June 24 Plaintiffs are supposed to submit their proposed writ of mandate (order) and on June 27, UC is supposed to submit objections and/or its own proposed writ. Hopefully we’ll see them on those dates before 6:00 p.m., but I seriously doubt it.

George Carlin (1937-2008)
Not all hippies are bad. Case in point: George Carlin, who died yesterday of heart failure. I was a big fan of his, and he will be missed.

From Feldman's blog....
From Ray in NYC: I love the Freaks list and appreciate that it’s not just a list of skill guys. It got me to thinking, if you had to make a top-10 list of the guys who would be the best two-way players, how would it look?
Feldman: A few guys I know who have already proven themselves on both sides of the ball would have to be on it: Boston College’s Brian Toal (FB-LB) and Ole Miss’ Greg Hardy (WR-DE). As for the rest, I’d love to see what kind of middle linebackers Jake Locker and Tim Tebow would be; let’s see Taylor Mays play wideout; Percy Harvin at cornerback; Derek Pegues at tailback; Joe McKnight at cornerback; Alex Mack at DT and Vontae Davis at WR.
From Gina in Santa Barbara, Calif.: Thanks for giving some love to Alex Mack. Do you think he gets overlooked sometimes because he plays center?
Feldman: I think that is a big part of it. It is really hard to find a good center and very few can do some of the things that Mack can, especially pulling to lead the ground game. What also has hurt him is Cal flopped last year and when your team doesn’t do well, it obviously holds back some of the publicity. Plus, O-line play is the toughest thing of all for people to hype up. Unless you are a coach and observe the guy every day or coach against him, you just don’t really know a lot. It’s also not like you’re going to hear a lot from NFL scouts because the reality is they don’t analyze a prospect really until their senior season. Those scouts who come on campus to watch film are really there just to see the seniors.

but, in a chat, ESPN’s Fran Frashilla says:
Patrick ,Oshkosh: What Power Forward would you take in the top half of the second round?
Fran Fraschilla: If any one of these players fall out of the first round, it would be a major second-round steal… Ryan Anderson from Cal, Jason Thompson from Rider, Richard Hendrix from Alabama and 7-1 Omer Asik from Turkey. anderson and thompson will get serious first-round consideration but could slip and be available. Remember that Carlos Boozer, who was recently selection to Mike Krzyzewski’s Olympic team, fell into the early second round.
