It’s cool if you want to provide an opposing viewpoint. I think most people of CGB are pretty open minded about most things, but you instantly lose credibility when you make such stupid claims that CGB
“is trying to draw its spin from its heroes in the media business, Fox News . . .”
I don’t think many people here would claim to even like Fox News much less call them “heroes.” And because most people here seem to understand and appreciate the historic role UC Berkeley students played in the Free Speech movement, and “liberalism” in general, it’s not like we’re a bunch of Bill O’Reilly’s here.
While many on CGB are “anti-hippie” on this issue, it’s not for a lack of understanding of what the trees mean to the hippies. For me anyway, it’s the choice for their forum, the lame rehetoric they use, and the appropriation of “Native American” issues and imagery without the slightest understanding of Native Americans. [Sorry Runny Dub, you’re a crackpot]. I’ve said before there are plenty of trees to save all over the world that are being logged at incredible rates, why not make a stand there instead of at trying to save 43 planted trees? Also, I’ve said before that the Bay Area Native American community is fairly well organized and if there was really a “sacred burial site” at the grove, people other than Runn Dub would be there claiming so and fighting for it. Heck I would be there fighting for that. Claiming the existence of a “sacred burial site” where there is none harms Indians when they are truly faced with this issue. This burial site dispute gives you an idea of who would get involved in such an issue.
oh, was BearsNecessity being serious?
i thought he was making a joke. i was not offended.
oh, and one of my favorite things about team-specific sports blogs is that there is neither a need nor a claim to be ‘fair and balanced’. it’s much easier to avoid being sucked in by spin if the authors are up-front about their inherent biases, instead of pretending to some sort of neutrality that isn’t really there.
So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!
After I posted I had doubts about whether he was being serious
so if you weren’t serious, my apoligies Bear.

Sorry again Bears,
it’s sometimes hard to tell what people mean when you don’t have the benefit of knowing them or seeing their facial expression or hearing their tone.

Runnie Dub shames the world. I cried.
“This is a patriotical institution that just got an ass-kickin’ from a patriotical gang. Not a gang, a family.” WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?
