To the Cal Track Team and specifically Katie Morgan. While the men's team got 71st place and the women's team got 22nd , Katie Morgan won the pole vault. Must.....resist....Allison.....Stokke......jokke. Here's another article on Ms. Morgan.

If you guys already didn't know, Sports Illustrated opened up a huge archive of its issues online. The SI Vault. Cal has its own page , going back to this story in 1954 about a QB transferring to UCLA. I'm sure there must be absurdly interesting stories all over the place in there.
