Eating the Enemy: Washington And Cal v. DePaul Open Thread
Here is the Eating The Enemy. Plus, Cal is playing against DePaul on CSN California, channel 400 on Comcast. So, use this thread as an Open Thread for the basketball game. Go Bears!
Also, we've started again with that posting. Check it: Interview with Gary Tyrrell, Women's B-Ball Primer. Beastmode. Top25.
Shockingly, there aren't a whole lot of recipes out there for eating huskies. Maybe I should have looked through some Chinese websites. JUST KIDDING I'M CHINESE

Sit down Randle.
Nice early substitution by Monty. Randle was way out of control on that early possession where he got his pocket picked.

Looking at the stats
Cal seemed to do well on the boards despite being undersized compared to DePaul. DePaul’s 11 missed free throws also probably helped things out a bit.

Nice to have a well-coached team, eh?
This team isn’t necessarily talented, but they play good basketball and get after it on defense. The one concern seems to be rebounding (the big edge tonight was courtesy of Depaul’s horrible shooting percentage). With a healthy Harper Kamp, this could be a VERY competitive team in conference play during a rebuilding year for the Pac-10. Is Cal becoming a basketball school????

Wow!
I sense a little sensitivity about the “basketball school” comment. I only mean that, when Tedford and Braun were on campus together, the basketball program essentially went from mediocre to irrelevant — with the exception of the individuals you mention (by the way, I like the inclusion of Aussie wunderkind Sean Marks and Monty “I never saw a backpack I didn’t like” Buckley, but leaving off Ryan Anderson, who will likely end up one of the top 5 players ever at Cal). Meanwhile, Tedford has built the program into an annual contender. Most of the folks I went to school with during the J Kidd years have just stopped watching the hoops team, while everyone continues to live and die by our so-close-to-the-Roses-I-can-taste-the-thorns football team during the Tedford era.
I merely mean that Montgomery is an outstanding coach who will likely lead the Bears to the Final Four before he hangs it up, and Joanne Boyle will win a national title — it’s just a matter of time. As for the Rose Bowl, who knows? That’s all I’m sayin’….
